Carter: Bush hurts prospects for peace

President Bush has pursued an "erroneous policy" that has fostered violence in the Middle East, said former President Jimmy Carter, who brokered the historic Camp David Accords between Israel and Egypt.

"In my opinion, maybe the worst ally Israel has had in Washington has been the George W. Bush administration, which hasn't worked to bring a permanent peace to Israel," Carter said Friday during a stop in West Michigan.

Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, were here as part of a fundraiser for their son, Jack Carter, who is seeking a U.S. Senate seat in Nevada. The $500-a-person event, attended by Gov. Jennifer Granholm, was held at the Plainfield Township home of Brent and Diane Slay. The Slays are longtime friends of the Carters and financial supporters of their humanitarian work through the nonprofit Carter Center.

Jimmy Carter, as the god father of this bastard Islamic Republic in Iran, you should have the simply human decency to shut up while better men fix the mess YOU helped create.

I knew he would come crawling out from under his rock sooner or later. He has been altogether too quiet.

Iran hostages, anyone? He did such a great job back then -
Can't these people ever shut the hell up?

Much like Clinton, Carter is searching for a legacy. Also, much like Clinton, he's too stupid to realize that his legacy already exists and it ain't pretty......

Jimmah, Jimmah, you forget your debacle in 92/93 so-called negotiations with North Koreans. So, idiot that suffers from Alzheimer's, don't point your boney finger as anyone else before you look at yourself.

hasn't worked to bring a permanent peace to Israel

That's because the only way to bring a permanent peace is to eliminate the permanent threat ... which Israel began to do about 3 weeks ago.

Israel does not have a problem with "peace" ... unless you buy into the Iranian concept that Israel IS the problem.

Laughable. This guy isn't even worth getting mad at.

Someone in the Bush administration needs to take Carter out to the woodshed though. It'd be nice if Cheney or Bush himself makes a statement about Carter. Of course, the hypocritical media will get mad at Bush for "sadly attacking a former President" or other nonsense, but who cares? This is inexcusable - a former President actively undermining the goals of another one. Unbelievable.

Carter has swallowed so much Arafat bodily fluids that his brain is poisoned. Camp David, Oslo - all were a sham, with Carter contributing to future destruction in Israel. Goofy Carter believes everything dictators tell him. Please, please, somebody stop him before he negotiates another disaster with evil?
