Aha. little liberalist socialist freak journalists fabricating the News yet again. Soon no one will be buying their newspapers.

I do not, and invest the money in icecream instead.

Re: if you stare long enough, it will appear.

Your attempt to pass this off as some sort of ink blot placed before a patient is sad, misinformed, and in denial of the visual evidence in front of you.

Notice how the pacifier is not covered with dust, and ask yourself how a clipped on pacifier could remain clip connected when a corpse is dragged from the rubble?

Note alsp the lack of concrete dust on the inside of the plastic links.

Obviously created and staged by none other than Green Helmet himself, Mr. Necrophelia.

Are there any other photos by OTHER photographer of the baby with the pacifier

There are two other photos by Anwar Amro of AFP. They are posted at Getty Image #71541368 and #71541349. These are taken at the same time as this one so I think it's right to say the soother was not photoshopped in.
The first one must have been taken just as Green Helmet Man raised him up because it shows a lot of sandy stuff falling off the body. If you look very closely at the soother there is some dust around the edge of the big part but that is probably from the falling dust. There is a picture of Green Helmet man kneeling by the baby before this that is posted towards the end of last night's thread. I think that one was by Hajj. You can see just a trace of the soother from the perspective of that photo which was taken before he was displayed to the world as in this one.

I see it Sam. no way that pacifier was on that baby prior to pulling him up from the rubble. Look at the ash on the hands of the "rescuers" and the ash on the baby.

Lest we forget, the first person to "corroborate" Time's Haditha story on the ground was a Reuters photographer:

Ain't suggesting anything, just want to understand the sleuthing required to piece all this together... but how do we know that the 'photo kill' graphic isn't a fake?

Is - http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/afp/20060806/capt.sge.cfo60.060806160927.photo06.photo.default-512x341.jpg - the native Yahoo/Reuters location for their published pics, or someone else's storage space?

I think we should take your suggestion a step further: We need an annual awards ceremony to bestow some sort of snotty statuette on the news organization and/or reporter who produced the most outrageous and obvious fake news of the year.

I have an obvious question: WHY THE BLEEPING BLANK DOES IT TAKE BLOGGERS OR INTERNET POSTERS TO DISCOVER THIS FRAUD AND POINT IT OUT?

Sorry for screaming, but I'm furious. The is the "great" Reuters, for cripes sake. The great, unbiased newswire service. Sending out fake photos to the world.

The next time some so-called journalist on TV or in the print media tries to mock the Internet, I'm going to projectile vomit. Hey print "journalists," hey ABC, NBC, CBS, et al., hey AP and Reuters, the Internet is the only place true investigative journalism takes place these days.

I have no idea why he did it. But, the fact that he did do it should trouble us all.

How do we know that the "accurate" one is not just a prior version of the original doctored photo? Say their were 10 evolutions of the original photo leading to the one that was published and that the so called "accurate" one is one of the 9 evolutions?

The problem this poses is that without a detailed explanation of what happened, all photo;s are now suspect.
