Regarding the recent terrorist attack at the Seattle Jewish Federation by a Muslim man motivated by anger with Israel, a leader of a local Muslim organization sent this letter to the Jewish Transcript (published August 4, 2006). I'm underwhelmed.
It is with deep sorrow that we note the one dead and five injured people in the mindless act of cruelty by a hate-filled man. Our hearts go out in sympathy to the injured and to the families of victims.This is consistent with Siddiqui's ongoing refusal to recognize that Muslims, acting as Muslims, sometimes commit acts of aggression in the name of Islam. He seems to feel that Muslims are only ever victims, persecuted by the government and the targets of a paranoid US. But Siddiqui's letter does clear up any misunderstandings about where he's really coming from, as did his statement in Louis Farrakhan's Final Call website: "
We struggled for some time about whether a statement should be sent out or not, because we would like this to be recognized for the grievous crime that it is, rather than an event that calls for an explanation or apology by Muslims.
In the end, it was decided that we need to extend our sympathies and good will to those who were victimized by this crime because it would prevent misunderstandings between the faiths.
Muslims, Jews and Christians have been working long and hard in this area, to build relationships of respect and trust that have so far endured many tests.
We look forward to the future in which this test, too, shall be endured and people of the three Abrahamic faiths will have come closer in spite of this tragedy.

Siddiqui said his organization and several other groups had announced a silent march today to demand a cease-fire in Lebanon and Palestine and to protest Israeli bombing.Siddiqui seems to have difficulty acknowledging that the Muslim world suffers from violent anti-Semitic and anti-western pathologies , whether it manifests itself as airplanes flying into office buildings in New York, as a spontaneous shooting in Seattle or in the form of 3,000 rockets fired by Hizbullah on innocent Israeli civilians.
That march, which starts at 11 a.m. at the Kirkland Marina and ends at Houghton Beach Park, should have no relation to the Seattle shootings, Siddiqui said.
Everyone needs to be aware of this "marketing" ploy on the part of the Religion of Peace folks. More and more you will see them refer to Islam as one of the three Abrahamic religions. As though we're all one big happy family.
Indeed, that is one of the lamest, most weaksauce "apologies" I have ever read. You could almost see him gritting his teeth and biting his lip writing this "apology," he probably would more have enjoyed getting a root canal without anesthesia.
He should have immediately issues a public statement condemning this attack instead, or not came up with any "apology" at all. As it stands this only makes him look worse.
As always, it's about them and their suffering, not anyone else's.

When something goes wrong, I don't have to think twice about saying that I am sorry that it did, and that anyone who was involved was terrible wrong to do what they did.
Why is it so hard for Muslims to come to grips with something this simple. If some nut-job went out and killed some Muslims women, I'd voice my sorrow.
Where did this guy get the hate that filled him? Was it at a mosque? Was it a Muslim firebrand that filled him with rage concerning Israel?
I don't really know that, but I am at a loss to understand why this person felt they must kill innocent Jewish women to make things better.
What a bunch of loosers, him for doing what he did, and those who must search their souls for weeks before doing what any caring human should at the moment they hear of such things.

Thanks. i remember reading here some time ago that they were trying to get some official recognition of this Abrahamic thing. Have you also noticed the tendency to overuse the word "we" and "our" when referring to all of us in the US?. Same kind of thing and even more irritating.

Because if they were to actually come to grips with it, they would be forced to say something like: "It is obvious that Islam is a complete failure and all cultures that are influenced by Islam to any degree are terribly harmed by it. We have been kidding ourselves for the past six hundred years and living a great lie. We can no longer do this....the lie has become impossible to prop up. So, in order to make a small effort at making amends to the rest of humanity, whom we have harmed so grievously by our lies and our violence, we renounce Islam and the Koran and all related teachings. All Muslims are hereby ordered to cease and desist from reading the Koran and to burn and destroy all copies of it. Muslims are hereby ordered to discintinue any and all belief systems pertaining to Islam, and to instead embrace Christianity and Judaism as your new religions. To the World: We are terribly sorry and beg your forgiveness for our great evil."
It's very much like the inability of Liberals and Leftists to come to terms with their "religion"....to do so would be to undercut the entire foundation of their world. To embrace logic and truth would be for liberals something like what embracing the Devil would be for Conservatives....it's not gonna happen.
And the Muslim who does this is "crazy" or "mad."

Actually, I think that the Left secretly loves Mel, because he's become the perfect weapon to demonstrate "Christian hypocrisy" with. Never mind that he's lived his entire life as a good and decent man and is a devout Catholic....no, forget that. And forget also that his two or so sentences that they are all in a lather over occurred when he was blind drunk and out of his head. Forget all that.....they LOVE Mel because he's RELIGIOUS and he GOES TO CHURCH and he BELIEVES IN GOD and so one bad moment in his life can be used to accuse ALL religious people of hypocrisy and of being anti Semitic and completely evil. I think that the Left loves him to pieces.

And also, very importantly, to SAY NOTHING, particularly when it comes to saying anything negative about jihadists in their midst and calling them what they truly are....they are VERY good at that.

Gee, I wonder why it is that the MSM never reminds us about these very true things that you mention.....about how non-muslims are regarded as no better than cattle, and are completely subhuman. How Jews are ACTUALLY monkeys....the muzzie children are taught this regularly.
