Pro-life advocates are decrying a grisly new outrage in Europe: Face lifts and cosmetic surgery using tissue from aborted babies are being offered at clinics in places such as Moscow and Rotterdam, and women from around the globe are flocking. In many cases women in third world nations are being paid up to $200.00 US to carry babies up to 12 weeks of pregnancy, when the unborn children are aborted and sold to the cosmetic clinics. An increasing number of these facilities are now springing up in popular vacation spots including Barbados and the Dominican Republic where regulation is spotty at best. Michael Harrington, SRN News.

These clinical studies offer solid benefits to patients suffering from heart disease, blood disorders and other afflictions.(1) Adult stem cells have already been used successfully with patients: to treat cartilage defects in children; restore vision to patients who were legally blind; relieve systemic lupus, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis; and to serve as an aid in numerous cancer treatments.(2) The use of a patient's own stem cells is even preferable to using embryonic stem cells because it avoids the problem of the body rejecting cells other than its own. Other new methods such as somatic cell gene therapy are increasingly successful in tissue regeneration and otherwise treating disease.
By contrast, embryonic stem cells have yet to demonstrate a single human therapeutic benefit. The most recent studies in animals have shown ES cells to be unstable and unpredictable—“errors [that] can lead to premature death or serious abnormality.”(3) Worried ES cell researchers were caught doctoring their interpretations of ES cell problems because they reportedly feared that “any mention of that potential problem in the article might be exaggerated by political factions that oppose the research on religious and ethical grounds.”(4) As the ES cell hype smokescreen disappears, a lot of disillusioned and angry patients will question scientific integrity.

I was intrigued by how Jesus fulfilled all the Messianic prophecies from the Hebrew Scriptures, which in turn got me interested in other Biblical prophecies as well. I became particularly intrigued with Ezekiel 36 and 37, which says that in the last days Israel will be reborn as a country, the Jews will pour back into the Holy Land after centuries in exile, that Israelis will rebuild the "ancient ruins," reunify Jerusalem, and develop a great and powerful army. I realized that all these things had come true in the 20th century. That made me curious: if Ezekiel 36 and 37 have already come true, isn't it possible that Ezekiel 38 and 39 will soon come true as well?
