Iran's 'supreme leader' — Khamenei — tells country to brace for war

In the first such order, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has directed its more than 300,000 troops to prepare for a confrontation with Israel and the United States. IRGC has directed and participated in the Hizbullah war against Israel. "Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards and Basij should prepare themselves to get even with Zionists and Americans," IRGC commander Maj. Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi said. "The supreme leader [Ali Khamenei] will announce the time for this."

We (the western civilizations) may never fully be ready to take the extreme measures that will be required to defeat Islam and their insidious goals.

Maybe not the Euro-weenies, but we've done it before, I believe we'd do it again. Bush wanted nuclear bunker-busters...didn't get them (more socialist complicity). So we have to use something a bit bigger...just drop some leaflets..:)

They couldn't beat Iraq, but they are ready to take on the US and Israel? They are delusional.

Well, no. That's our clue that they have a new toy they're just itching to try out.

Do you sacrifice Taiwan for Iran?

No need. The threat of unleashing Japan might keep them in check. Just need to convince Japan that pre-emption is self-defense.

Do you all remember what Zarqawi's plan was when he was killed? Wasn't there somthing then about Iran drawing the USA into a war to try to bring us down by over extending us?

It's reasonably safe to assume that "letter" was a fake. A pathetic fake at that....hard to believe the Iranians thought we'd fall for it.

Yes. At last, somebody in here is thinking about the smart way out instead of bloodlust.

Oh bother. There's only one thing that's going to end this. The sooner you get with the program the better.

The islamist apocalypse is developed and detailed far beyond the Christian Revelations. Even Dante would be a source, probably secondary. Apocalyptic writings have always been popular and the islamists have a very complicated tradition now. The story of the 12th imam and the mahdi is only the tip of the iceberg. I don't think much will be found in the koran itself. Where to look? What little I know is third-hand, some picked up here, some there, some on FR.

Don't worry, when the tanks are rolling into South Korea, and the rockets are flying towards Taiwan; the American people will understand!

And I have a LOT of confidence in the way our hight tech army sliced up Iraq, better to fight a conventional war... with China and Iran and North Korea.

I wonder if the CVN 77 George Bush is operational yet?

It just occured to me that there must be enough airbases in Iraq & Afghanistan that perhaps only 1 carrier group is needed. (Duh!) It would also be wise to keep them away from the Hormuz and out of range of any Iranian anti-ship missiles.

Please call the number below to thank President Bush and to give your input on the need for the US to continue its high level of support in this latest Israeli vs. Terrorist war in the Middle East.

This comment line puts you in touch with a real, live, person to whom you can express your support for Israel and ask the President to "hang tough" to prevent a cease fire that would render the efforts of Israel in vain.

PLEASE CALL PRESIDENT BUSH AT THE WHITE HOUSE AT 1-202-456-1111 AND PROVIDE YOUR THOUGHTS.

PLEASE SEND THIS TO EVERYONE YOU BELIEVE CARES.

You don't think the Iranians toppling the regime is a better solution?

Iranians don't need annihilation, they need liberation.

Have you seen how hot the Persian women are? What's wrong with you?

"Is is possible that everyone overlooked this point?"

I've been hoping that's the case - that we've been operating with long-term strategy in mind. Maybe that's why our President is so quiet in the face of so much treasonous b*tching & back-seat complaining.

I believe we fared badly in simulations when they used silworms against our ships in the gulf.

That would be silkworms and we fared phenomenally in the gulf in the late 80's. The U.S.S. Enterprise battle group put 2 Iranian frigates, some planes and many skiffs into the deeper waters of the gulf in a matter of minutes once they actually engaged us. I seem to recall at the time they were newer French made Frigates. Top of the line stuff for Iranians. They were named Sahan and Sabalan. Anyway if they want a wider war you are really going to see the military that your tax dollars pay for, not some "peacekeeping" debacle but good old fashioned devastation on a major scale.
