Iran's 'supreme leader' — Khamenei — tells country to brace for war

In the first such order, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has directed its more than 300,000 troops to prepare for a confrontation with Israel and the United States. IRGC has directed and participated in the Hizbullah war against Israel. "Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards and Basij should prepare themselves to get even with Zionists and Americans," IRGC commander Maj. Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi said. "The supreme leader [Ali Khamenei] will announce the time for this."

The US would defeat the Iranian Army in less than 2 weeks.

As long as we think we needed to occupy, we could capture and imprison the current government, and then leave.

Once Iran goes nuclear, though, we would be less willing to pay the necessary price.

Now is the time to take down Iran.

I've had the same feeling for a good long while now.

Never forget that we have people in the military that have nothing to do all day but plan for contingencies such as you describe.

The good news is that we don't need another "Hearts and Minds" war. "Shock and Awe" will do.

Exactly! Someone needs to tell these Mullahs that the only thing American that they will see will be missiles... and BIG ONES at that!

"It only gets more complicated and interesting if N. Korea or China decides to pull a stunt in that part of the world while we deal with Iran."

Do you sacrifice Taiwan for Iran? "

Sadly, I think, yes. Iran is entirely too dangerous to be left alone. We have to confront them or within a few years, they will be dropping nuclear weapons on our cities.

Believe me, if we get war weary, we'll nuke their cities. We just need to lose enough people. Our battle plans now are blitzkrieg and then be benign to the citizens, not total war. We will need to eventually change our mindset to total war. Islam actually will require us to total war since the civilians are almost as guilty as the terrorists; they're allowing these monsters to live in their midst. Therefore, they are enabling the terrorists.

" Your correct. Did you see the other snippet on China boning up their 16th army in North Korea? They are all tied in together, Russia & China with Iran/North Korea and Syria. Their is coordinated strategy going on here and our country is really just started waking up to it. WWWIII is going to be nasty but we'll come out victorious against the bad guys. The bible also prophecies this in Revelations. 1/3 of mankind dies and the specific amount of combatants mentioned is 200 million. We're just seeing the players take their roles and it's coming out into the open. "

On your biblical prophecy point, I believe you are 100% correct. Things are falling into place just as they are written in Scripture. Good news is, we know the ending of the book and it doesn't end in us all speaking Arabic.

Please give me the reason for this defeatist opinion. Thank you.

Because he's a Keyboard Kommando. BTW, the logical end of his comments is that the best strategy would be to surrender now, just to save time.

The offensive essentially wiped out the NVA.

Slight correction -- IIRC, it essentially wiped out the VC, and heralded a more direct involvement by the NVA.

Hope we don't go into Iran.

We don't have great logistics in the region, and the resulting Shiite uprisings in Iraq and Kuwait would make things interesting.

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid. Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn -
world serves its own needs, don't misserve your own needs. Feed it up a knock,
speed, grunt no, strength no. Ladder structure clatter with fear of height,
down height. Wire in a fire, represent the seven games in a government for
hire and a combat site. Left her, wasn't coming in a hurry with the furies
breathing down your neck. Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered
crop. Look at that low plane! Fine then. Uh oh, overflow, population,
common group, but it'll do. Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its
own needs, listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
reverent in the right - right. You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
light, feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign tower. Slash and burn,
return, listen to yourself churn. Lock him in uniform and book burning,
blood letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate. Light a candle,
light a motive. Step down, step down. Watch a heel crush, crush. Uh oh,
this means no fear - cavalier. Renegade and steer clear! A tournament,
a tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives
and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I tripped a nice continental drift divide. Mount St. Edelite.
Leonard Bernstein. Leonid Breshnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs.
Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You symbiotic, patriotic,
slam, but neck, right? Right.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine...fine...

No, this time it will be nothing but "Burnt and Crispy" when we finish with them if they pop a nuke.
