Looking for Map of Cell Phone Purchases
self | August 11, 2006 | madison10

Posted on 08/11/2006 3:01:13 PM PDT by madison10

Has any one made a map, or done any tracking, of cities/towns the cell phones are being purchased? or of where the suspects are being picked up?

Thanks.

If you start to put together a list, you can add Aiken, South Carolina to the list. About a month ago, several Arabs went to the Dollar Stores and tried to buy hundreds of dollars worth of phones. The policy since 9/11 does not allow that many and they became angry but settled for going from store to store buying just 2 at a time.

They were seen outside the stores disposing of the parts of the phone they didn't want. The FBI was called and their van was found later the next day but we never heard whether the Arabs themselves were ever found.

I talked to a Nashville police department "security and threat" section Lt. today and he told me he received an alert that some ME men had tried to purchase cell phones at a Dollar Store in Memphis area.

If Homeland Security was smart, they would immediately put a stop to the sale of prepaid cell phones in the U.S. The majority of purchasers are drug dealers, prostitutes and Al Qaeda.

This is not about buying phones for use in the Middle East.

This has all the appearance of a plan to detonate lots and lots of IEDs here in the USA.

Be vigilant!

I lumped the illegal aliens among the other categories. ;-)
You are right, of course. The only other purchasers are people who probably can't afford to own one.

Wal-Mart in Caro, Michigan. Someone was doing his/her job and reported the suspicious purchases.

That would leave my kids out in the cold then, because they only use prepaid phones because the 'paid' phone charges are too high for them.

Besides. What makes you think that if they were banned the 'drug dealers, prostitutes and Al Qaeda' wouldn't just use phony I.D. to buy the 'paid' phones?

I don't think restricting our rights, just to stop these people from getting pre-paid phones, is the right the way to go. Seems to me law enforcement has a handle on it now.

Hence the 'busts'!

I can't figure out what they were planning to do in Bad Axe. There isn't anything there. I suppose they could get out in the sticks and play jihad and pass phones out to others.

Let me put it this way: If there was a way to TRACK the phones, I have no problem with anyone buying them. They should all be subject to the same rules as regular cell phones . If it saves American lives, why not?

There's another Super Wal-Mart in Bad Axe. They were going to do more "shopping."

What rules are regular cell phones subject to that prepaids are not?

the busts have been lucky. how many haven't been caught. the companies should disable all of of the pre-paids and require that ID be shown in order to re-activate them. each phone represents a potential bomb detonator. this is a war. i'm sure you'd have no problem showing ID to validate your kids phones.
