Linda Ronstadt played the part of Mabel in a straight-up TV production of Pirates of Penzance a few years ago. I thought she had a pretty voice.
Linda who???
She's gotten old and fat since her Stone Poney days. She's forgotten like yesterday's news.
How fat is she now?
"Let's all remember she was the periodic squeeze for Governor Moonbeam.
Those birds flock together, but nobody cares."
Exactly! A couple of Loons.
While I DETEST her politics, her sessions with Nelson Riddle are some of the best stuff I've ever heard.
I still break out in a sweat when I listen to it.
She's so fat,the wrinkles around her neck look like hot dogs.
Great pun in there: defenerates. I realize it's only one key away, but to 'defenestrate' is to toss someone out of a window.
Wasn't Kevin Kline the Pirate King in that?
And it was more than just a 'few' years ago. Late '80's, if memory serves.
Her version of Batman is lengendary.
This Sneed dude is a woman (yes, I know the first name is Michael), and it's hard to believe SHE's still around. She's been doing that silly gossip column for decades. :)
Its funny the way Ronstadt went from ugly to cute back to ugly again. I saw Kathlene Turner (Jewel of the Nile, Peggy Sue got Married, etc) on TV recently and it shocked me, didn't look at all like the young sexy one she used to be.
She's so fat
that when she sits around the house she sits AROUND the house.
Henny Youngman RIP
She hit her peak with the Stoned Ponies. It's been downhill for her ever since.
Her solo work in the '70's was awesome. Tremendous voice. Political tin ear.
I don't disagree with you. I even enjoyed her music back then. I guess I soured around 1978 when she gave hetero cover to Governor Moonbeam.
After that, she was just another leftwing slut.
I see the workmen in the background are taking extra precaution and strengthening the stage foundations...
"She's this fat:"
Linda grew up in Tucson...not to far from me...she was a serious "fox" when she was younger. Now however, when I tried to get around to her good side I ran out of gas!
She was alright but mostly did inferior versions of songs that were already done a whole lot better: Blue Bayou, Silver Threads and Golden Needles, Poor Poor Pitiful Me, Hasten Down the Wind, Back in the USA, When Will I be Loved, and so on ad infinitum.
