A bill allowing illegal immigrants to obtain state driver's licenses has passed the Legislature, but Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has said he will veto it.
(Excerpt) Read more at cbs13.com ...
This measure was tailored to conform to the Real ID Act (provisions for special markings for licenses for illegals).
Whatever Arnold's many flaws, the Democrats make him look like a glistening god by comparison.
Another BIG LIE.
I agree with GSP
"No Republican governor in California history has promoted transsexuality, bisexuality and homosexuality like Arnold Schwarzenegger has. In the last three years, Schwarzenegger has delighted homosexual activists by signing most of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) bills that the Democrat-controlled Legislature has placed on his desk. "
--Randy Thomasson, President, Campaign for Children and Families [Source]"Since taking office in 2003, has signed two dozen bills in support of rights for the gay and lesbian communities." [Source]
"The attempt to pass gay marriage was a cynical attempt to embarrass a governor who, up until that point, had been recognized by Equality California and the Human Rights Campaign as the most gay-friendly governor in history."
--Ralph Denney, Log Cabin Candidate for California Assembly (San Diego-AD 76), [Source].
Sure! What's to stop them? Nobody will stop them at the polling place. Put in some time as a poll monitor and you'll be told that you may not question anybody's residency or citizenship status.
I like him despite his poor taste in in laws.
(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo! )
If he understands the groundswell concerning illegal immigration, then why hasn't he gotten off the pot and done something about it?
Those illegals are still here. They are still driving. They are still involved in countless hit and run accidents. They are still mostly uninsured.
Yeah, thanks Governor.
Don't Worry Conservatives! You have a choice!
Instead of voting to keep a pro-abortion, pro-gay rights, anti-second ammendment, pro-big government, pro-taxation "Republican" in office, do this instead:
1. Vote for all the down-the-ballot Republicans. They are good conservative candidates. Men like Tom McClintock definately deserve our support.
2. Vote for the conservative running for Governor. Ed Noonan is the American Independent Party Candidate for Governor. Learn more at his website at www.ednoonan4gov.org
Not really, The Terminator has been working behind the scenes all along to get drivers license's for illegals, I will bet my hat that he will sign some for of a license bill after he is re-elected.
What is to stop them? You can't ask if they are a citizen. Besides motor Voter requires the issuing agency to register any one receiving welfare, or any other kind of assistance.
Explain how one Republican (Stevens) Can hold up a bill, and some how, not one republican could hold up Motor Voter. Sighhhhhh

"The Terminator has been working behind the scenes all along to get drivers license's for illegals"
That is absolutely UNTRUE.
I simply CANNOT BELIEVE that Republicans have appeased this big spending, big borrowing, gay-loving, GANG-GREEN Governor so easily, let alone people on a conservative site pretending to be any kind of "conservatives!"
It just boggles the clear thinking considerate, mature conservative mind!!!
To be repealed by referendum, followed by another recall.
Besides, it's illegal under the Federal Real ID law.
ANOTHER MAJOR difference between Arnold and Angelides.
As to whether this is ANOTHER MAJOR difference, there you go again. You were told what Arnold said and offered a source HERE.
I'll repeat it for you, again.
Schwarzenegger on Driver Licenses for illegal aliens during a January Interview with Univision:
Interviewer: How would you deal with more conservative members of the legislature...?
Schwarzenegger: Again, it's one of those things where we all have to get together and see that this is a good idea and this is the way to move forward. So, I am talking to my Republican friends all the time about it, and also to my Democratic friends. We will do it.
"Our staffs have met, and they're working on this together," said Vincent Salido, spokesman for the Republican governor
Governor: "Absolutely...yes. This is what we are going to work on. This is what we are going to talk about, but right now the most important thing is to get this passed (the repeal of SB 60) so we can move to other issues. I think Senator Cedillo was extremely gracious and helpful with this whole thing. He is a great leader, he understood what would be the best thing for California; rather than just doing an immediate fix, but to make everybody happy. It doesn't make sense if the majority of Californians run around and hate the idea of undocumented immigrants having drivers licenses because there is no background check, because it doesn't solve the problem with insurance. Let's do it the right way, let's make every Californian happy and let's make the undocumented immigrants happy."
You can try to spin it, but the bottom line is that Arnold vetoed it before and will veto it again, while Angelides would sign it.
MAJOR difference between the two.
First of all you are quoting OPINIONS from some anti-Arnold article, second of all, Arnold has signed some inconsequential bills, but he vetoed important ones, such as the homosexual marriage act.
Arnold's own words make you a liar.
I once thought, giving him the benefit of the doubt, that he was intensely niaeve about having things both ways at once like a lot of Liberals, however... He's got this and his idea that you can over-regulate environmental matters to the extreme and still not suffocate economic progress, all wrong!
I sure wish he knew and understood your concepts and precepts!!! Maybe then I wouldn't oppose him so severely...
