There have been protests where the Pope has been burned in effigy, charactatures have been created of him as a monster and I'm sure some of these people will manage to stirr up violence against Christian minorities in Muslim nations.

Pope Benedict will do what he believes is right, and in accordance with Catholic doctrine. He will not be swayed by public opinion, or be influenced by threats.
Apology? Come on, what real, truly focused individual actually wants an apology? Apologies are for losers!
