Foley and the Blame Game
The American Thinker ^ | Oct 1. 2006 | clarice Feldman

Posted on 10/01/2006 8:58:50 AM PDT by the Real fifi

Pardon me, but I smell something very peculiar in the way we have learned of the disgrace of Rep. Mark Foley.

The email scandal which led to the resignation of the Republican Congressman is reverberating throughout the capital and the nation, as Democrats attempt to capitalize on bad news for Republicans. The seamiest of the released emails, which Foley has not denied, are right up there with Rhodes Scholar and Illinois Democratic Congressman Mel Reynolds’ taped phone conversations lusting for 15 year old Catholic school girls in their uniforms

exactly right. If the RATS were really interested in protecting kids, why did they wait so long to let this come out? The ethical thing to do was go to the GOP leadership behind the scenes and tell them they had a problem with one of their members. Instead they sit on it until right before the election. This is what should be hammered home. Turn it right around and make it backfire on the RATS.

The big difference is that we don't rally around this scumbag and come up with lame excuses for why this is no big deal as the democRATS do for their perverts.

Foley is disgraced for life, and we don't want him anywhere around us (at least not within reach, lest we invite an assault charge).

it's because we don't fiddle with nuance, we have definite borders between right and wrong. what Foley did is depraved and I would not wnat him within distance of my kids.

Great Article! As usual American Thinker is heads and shoulders above the rest. I thought the exact same thing about that original website that got the first email and if you go read the comments section on that site, it reads like blogactive.com(a venemous gay website) that I believe is implicated in this on some level as well. Going to do a whois search on that original website right now.

and, of course, Pelosi has called for the investigation of pubbies over this right behind her investigation of Jefferson with his "cold cash" with connections to foreign governments and other dimRats in DC. - and any day now, we're going to see headlines of a grand jury indictment and "leaks" on what they've found in Jefferson's office on the hill - where all the pol-critters think thought their dirty dealings are safely "off limits'

I dont think there is any doubt this was held back for their October surprise. I am glad the POS was exposed, but this also exposes the extremes that the Dems will go to to win. Nothing is too low.

And why, when Clinton hit on interns, was it his "personal sex life"? Funny how things change when it's the other party.

Part of me is sympathetic to your argument. However, this is a situation that is all about the Republican party and how they will deal with it.

I don't want politics ruling the day in this instance. IMHO, we need to let our elected officials know that we will not stand for this.

I don't vote for Democrats (anymore), so what they say regarding Foley has no impact with me. The last thing I want from the Pubbies is Democrat-lite on any issue.

There are two people responsible for this. Foley and the speaker who knew about it last year and did nothing. He should have been arrested.

So, here's a "stupid" page answering the email of a perv. And the page "CONTINUES" to talk to the perv.

This isn't a 10 year old kid and these pages are supposedly among the brightest.

From the article: "ABC has not disclosed the names of the recipients of the instant messages which were sexually explicit, years old, and not seen by anyone else. We do not know how anyone but the recipients could have retrieved them."

My emphasis added. This is what I've been wondering about.
