Hastert Requests Criminal Probe of Foley

House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., requested Sunday that the Justice Department conduct an investigation into former Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record)'s electronic messages to teenage boys — a lurid scandal that has put House Republicans in political peril.

"As Speaker of the House, I hereby request that the Department of Justice conduct an investigation of Mr. Foley's conduct with current and former House pages to determine to what extent any of his actions violated federal law," Hastert wrote in a letter to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

I know the difference and stated that the emails were given to the various organizations. There is nothing in my post about the IMs. Someone was trying to get this story out in November of 2005, that is my point. But thank you for the caution. People need to be reminded often about the difference between the two.

There is a reason gay guys aren't allowed to be Scout leaders. Why this guy was allowed near young boys baffles me.

As I understand it there wasn't enough when they first found out. There were no explicit IM's to go on, him simply contacting a former page/friend and asking how he was and asking for a picture. I would see nothing untowards about that.

This case isn't complicated. Foley is a homosexual, the same as the guys who parade in Gay Days at Disney, the same people who Democrats and many RINOs want to protect with gay rights. Gay sex is about sodomy and the spread of disease, not an amusing "lifestyle". The politicians of both major parties fall over themselves to be "sensitive" to gay rights, so why do they now think Foley has done something wrong? He should be "protected". (For the many who are slow, this is sarcasm.)

House Majority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) said in a radio interview with conservative commentator Sean Hannity that the party's replacement candidate is all but doomed. Because of ballot procedures in Florida, "to vote for this candidate, you have to vote for Mark Foley," Boehner said. "How many people are going to hold their nose to do that?"

Unfortunately, people are going to have to hold their noses and do this if they want a Repub majority. The party has to get the info out that a vote for Foley is NOT a vote for Foley.

This is a homosexual case. Stop with the pedophilia. This is the stuff that they want taught in our schools. The fact that Foley sent emails is what homosexuals do all the time. I agree, Hastert should have started a policy years ago:

NO GAYS ALLOWED in the US senate.

That would have saved him some trouble.
