A Splendid Achievement (Terry Jones on W)
Guardian ^ | October 10, 2006 | Terry Jones

Posted on 10/10/2006 1:53:25 PM PDT by Stone Mountain

I write to you in my capacity as secretary of the World League of Despots.

It is with great pleasure that I am finally able to extend an official invitation to you to join our ranks. For many years, we have watched your efforts to fulfil the requirements necessary to join our number. From the start, we were greatly impressed by your disdain for democratic principles - the way you wrested power from the democratically elected candidate in the 2000 election, and again in 2005 when you managed to swing what was clearly going to be a victory for your opponent...

IBTZ. More crap from the Guardian. Weren't there scumballs the same ones who tipped more counties to W in OH in '04 with their boneheaded scheme to write to US voters in OH about not voting for Bush?

What is it about the movie industry that makes it's members believe we give a rodent's behind about what they think?

Too bad...there are so many Python (Monty) fans on FR, myself included.

I wish I hadn't bout all their DVDs (including the entire Flying Circus set)

Wait...I don't have Live at the Bowl (Hollywood).

And I never will. Good show!

But at least John Cleese from all accounts I've ever heard is a Conservative.

Really? Haven't heard him talk about politics much, but I thought I remembered him slamming the Iraq war. And then there's this:

How many Bush administration officials does it take to change a light bulb?

None. There’s nothing wrong with that light bulb. There is no need to change anything. We made the right decision and nothing has happened to change our minds. People who criticize this light bulb now, just because it doesn’t work anymore, supported us when we first screwed it in, and when these flip-floppers insist on saying that it is burned out, they are merely giving aid and encouragement to the Forces of Darkness.

I heard a lengthy interview with John Cleese on public radio a couple of years ago. He's far out in left field....he's just more discreet about it than Terry JOnes.

Cleese is definitely a lefty. He is quoted as stating that he would never have anything to do with a Rupert Murdoch publication because of Murdoch's supposed right-wing political leanings.

My experience after conversing with various in-laws on a recent trip to Britain is that many Brits are convinced that somehow Bush fixed the last two elections. I had one in-law go on about Bush "suppressing" the Black vote in Florida and so on and so forth. I argued back and asked him where he got his info about our recent elections. Where else? Michael Moore. What Jones's ridiculous article reveals is that many Brits are more than willing to believe the Dem-inspired lies about Republicans...and that there is no more stupid person than an arrogant leftist.
