Monday night, drivers along Theodore Street in Joliet got a shock, when a 10-foot long ball python slithered across the road, stopping four lanes of traffic. ...The owner, who did not say how his pet got out, took the pet home without further incident.

It is time. The movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" MUST be banned and removed from the internet, retail outlets, etc. We just can not stand for the implicit racism in the movie. King Arthur wishes to cross a stream (which could be easily crossed on foot up, or downstream) and is blocked by the "Black Knight" (this has to have been a futuristic representation of protesters by the creators of the movie). This character says "None shall pass!" (protesters blocking traffic) one too many times for King Arthur. Of course, a fight ensues. What is SO racist is...

Everybody expects the Spanish Inquisition. And as with all things Monty Python, fans need to expect the unexpected, too. Next month the surviving Monty Python members reunite onstage for the first time in almost 35 years — and, they say, the last time ever. Fans understandably want to see the anarchic comedy troupe's classic skits. They're hoping for Spam, lumberjacks, dead parrots and of course the red-robed cardinals who burst in to proclaim: "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

A few years ago I swore off of writing on political topics. The frustration level just got to be too much to bear. But the recent advent of the “Occupy Wall Street” protests and the attack on capitalism has prompted back into political action. Those who know me well know that gardening is one of my passions and I’ve found over the years, and used, gardening as a fantastic metaphor for so many things in life. I want to relate a conversation I had nearly 20 years with an old neighbor of mine when I lived in the rich low-country...

I came across this in my surfings this morning. Here is the blurb that accompanies a video of celeb favorite Python moments: Monty Python was first aired on British television screens on October 5 1969. Famous for the ministry of silly walks and the dead parrot sketch, the legacy of the series lives on. The BBC spoke to Ricky Gervais, Justin Lee Collins, Jeremy Clarkson and Stephen Merchant to find out their favourite Monty Python moments. Click here to watch the video.

A man who chose "Lloyds is pants" as his telephone banking password said he found it had been changed by a member of staff to "no it's not".Steve Jetley, from Shrewsbury, said he chose the password after falling out with Lloyds TSB over insurance that came free with an account. He said he was then banned from changing it back or to another password of "Barclays is better".
  • Hillary: "It's just a flesh wound!"

Mere flesh wound, says maimed Hillary on Holy Grail trail WHICH movie is Hillary Clinton? After Clinton's win in Pennsylvania, I'm convinced the right movie is in fact Monty Python and the Holy Grail. More precisely, the scene in which Arthur — the Obama character — confronts the Black Knight (Hillary), lops off his arm and declares: "Now stand aside, worthy adversary." But the Black Knight refuses to succumb, declaring "'tis but a scratch" and it's "just a flesh wound" as Arthur dismembers him. In their desperation to win, however, the Clintons might well end up destroying themselves — like...

I write to you in my capacity as secretary of the World League of Despots. It is with great pleasure that I am finally able to extend an official invitation to you to join our ranks. For many years, we have watched your efforts to fulfil the requirements necessary to join our number. From the start, we were greatly impressed by your disdain for democratic principles - the way you wrested power from the democratically elected candidate in the 2000 election, and again in 2005 when you managed to swing what was clearly going to be a victory for your...

(For fans of Monty Python's Flying Circus) The AP* has uncovered startling new details on the death of Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat following an assiduous investigation. The AP* recently obtained highly classified documents from an as-yet unidentified member of the CIA*. Those documents revealed that Arafat was literally scared to death while lying in hospital when a giant hedgehog peered into his private room’s window. Witnesses, who wish to remain anonymous, have identified the enormous rodent as Spiny Norman, the long-time nemesis of Britain’s notorious arch-criminal, Dinsdale Piranha. The CIA* operative, who previously worked for the UK’s MI5* was...

Thoughts for Father's Day: ''A Father's Duty'' Posted by Doc Farmer Wednesday, June 11, 2003 I'm fortunate that I'm the father of two wonderful, beautiful and intelligent children. I'm not so fortunate about my ex-wife, of course, but that's another matter entirely. My kids live in England with their mother, and I don't get to see them nearly as much as I'd like, mainly due to my work and my location. But be that as it may, as any father I try to be involved in their lives as much as I can be, and give them the benefit of...
