Tony Knowles (D) 40%

Palin led by 14 points in the last poll here and by 13 points before that. Knowles lost a close race for the Senate in 2004 and that leads me to believe he will NOT be winning this race, either.

IMO, she's picture worthy too.

Like Irey, Palin is another "hot" forty-something conservative mom. Compare them to Stabenaw, Hitlery (whose butt has been assigned its own Zip Code) and Pelosi (who has had 23 face lifts).

Yeah, I can see that. And the combination certainly works.

I think we can chalk this race up to being the smartest, smoothest replacement of a troubled incumbent (who refused to get out of the way !) facing the strongest possible Dem opponent for the November election in a major contest. Again, bravo, Alaska Republicans ! :-D

Palin is not running a great campaign. Rick has withdrawn his support (one vote only) and may write-in J Binkley. Tony Clinton might have to sit behind the big desk in Juneau another four years.

Notable Republicans are deserting the Palin campaign. They see some old, familiar faces hanging around and would rather get some fresh leadership. The problem is whether to write-in or go Independent. Neither is an attractive option and Tony is out of the question. It's a problem.
