Cindy Sheehan is coming to Syracuse University on Oct 19th at 7pm. We have been granted approval to hold a pro-USA rally outside of Hendrick's Chapel to show our support for the troops and our country vs this vile person...join us! We are meeting around 630pm, bring a sign, bring an effigy.
All patriotic Central New Yorkers are encouraged to show their support for our country and our troops by showing up and giving Cindy Sheehan the greeting a traitor deserves.
How does Cindy Sheehan pay her bills?
How the heck can she travel all over the world and not have a job or visible means of support?
Wasn't the military death benefit raised to $250K a couple of years ago? I don't know if her son was married when he was KIA.
These speaking gigs are routinely in excess of $5,000 plus travel, hotel and meal expenses.
I used to vote on speakers for my school. We had an interesting mix, George McGovern (I voted for it and he was a good speaker though... nuts.), John Anderson, one of Letterman's writers who also did the Simpsons, a former 4 star General (Forget who.) but their fees were ridiculous IMHO. I sooooo wanted to get JIMMAH but he was in excess of $20K and there was no way we could afford him.
Failed Presidential candidates and cause celebs like the Ditch Bitch still command a pretty penny.

Two years ago, when I was still at Utah Valley, the student association, with the blessing of the Alumni, voted to have Michael Moore speak. The cost? 100k. Which happened to be the total amount allotted for ALL speaking enagagements at UVSC for the entire academic year. It was sold out, but not because people lined up to buy tickets, but because the local ANSWER, PRISM, and Student Democrat groups handed out tickets to anyone who wanted them at the student center..
