Strange bedfellows: Michael Savage Donates to Democrats
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 10/16/06 | arual

Strange bedfellows: It turns out that ultra-hot conservative talk show host Michael Savage is backing Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown for state attorney general. "What can I say? I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?'' Savage said, when asked why he chose Democrat Brown over conservative Republican Chuck Poochigian. Savage, whose rants can be heard locally on KNEW-AM, is backing up his hot talk with some hot money as well. Savage Productions, which lists Savage as president and his wife, Janet Weiner, as director, has donated $5,600 to Brown's campaign. "You have to make choices in an imperfect world,'' Savage said. "And this, this Machugian guy. (Like we said, it's Poochigian.) I never heard of him. I don't even know who he is." Poochigian has spent the past 12 years in Sacramento, first in the Assembly and now in the Senate. Doesn't impress the president of the Savage Nation. "Why bet on a horse that isn't going to win? Why throw your money into the garbage?'' So how did the best-selling author of "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder'' wind up backing a liberal once nicknamed "Governor Moonbeam"? "People change. He changed. He has experience,'' Savage said of Brown. "He started the Oakland military academy -- that was a good thing." And Brown's politics? "He's moved to the center, which is what this socialist state needs," Savage said.

Savage is nothing more than a "conservative" Michael Moore. Hopefully, this hasten the end of his career.

Actually in California conservative circles, the name "Jerry Brown" says it all ...

Mike Savage is the only person on the conservative side who can give Michael Moore a run for his money in that respect.

Savage is a TALK SHOW HOST. Period.

He is NOT the Bush RNC (Republican National Committee) which supported both Arlen Specter and then Lincoln Chaffee against REAL Republican primary opponents.

Savvy?

I see that today's story on Savage STILL does not have you convinced.

I have been telling you Savage fans what a commie-socialist he was, dispite his slick sloganeering faking you guys to believe otherwise.

We are talking about Savage, but I'm not surprised to see Savage fans like yourself take any opportunity to bash Bush.

"Maybe now his fans here will finally see the moron for what he is --- a moron."

I was hoping the same, but Savage seems to have powerful tin-foil-hat transmitters/recievers.

My only comment about Savage is that he is loud and unshakeable. When he's right, he is loud and unshakeably right. When he's wrong, he's loud and unshakeably (and sometimes shockingly) wrong.

Gee, I sympathize with Mike completely. It's too much to expect a busy "conservative" commentator to educate himself about every candidate in every remote corner of California. I mean, Sacramento and Fresno are just so far out of the way from San Francisco, aren't they? I mean, especially when you've got such a great "conservative" as Jerry Brown right there in the Bay Area.

And this guy has the nads to criticize others for being sellouts. What a piece of work he is.

I had to fix your post.

"I see that today's story on Bush STILL does not have you convinced.

I have been telling you Bush fans what a globalist-internationalist he was, dispite his slick sloganeering faking you guys to believe otherwise.

We are talking about Bush, but I'm not surprised to see Bush fans like yourself take any opportunity to bash Savage."

Bush is the President.

Savage is a talk show host.

Guess who has more power to ruin the country?

Oh, I see now.

"Oh man, what will the three guys on the Savage Daily Thread say now?"

Hey, what'cha gonna do when you can't kick his dog ('Teddy') around anymore?

I don't believe he gave even a penny to any dimheadocrat, unless they had a tin cup on the end of their guitar and a buncha used pencils spread at their feet.

I've never liked Savage and now this shows me why. He is a blow hard trying to fill his bank accounts off of the people who like his hype.

No true Conservative would give to Jerry Brown.

One thing I have noticed about Savage is that the closer we get to the election, the more he bashes Republicans and Bush.

Oh sure, he gives the obligatory bash of Dims every so often, but you can bet your bottom dollar that he will bash Bush and Republicans at least once every 10 minutes, in between telling us how others have stolen this slogan or that, but he does not care (so he mentions it every single day). Or, he bashes those who listen to anyone else as moronic idiots, rather than accepting that different people may like different approaches.

But, it is his ramping up of the Republican bashing over the past few weeks that I have noticed.

He may say Democrats will destroy this country, but he appears to be doing everything in his power to help them out, now including donations.

Does he honestly think that this bashing will keep Dims out of power??
