John Kerry Responding to Republican Distortions, Pathetic Tony Snow Diversions and Distractions
johnkerry.com ^

Posted on 10/31/2006 9:37:49 AM PST by Mo1

Washington – Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerry’s comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.

The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.

Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we’re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.”

Kerry can sputter all he wants. His party is stuck with his black and white words:
"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Paul Simon said it best. "Everything looks worse in black and white."

It's good to remind the dems every now and then why Kerry lost. It is so easy to dislike him. And then he says something to confirm it. (Let's not even bring up "Teh-ray-zahhhh.")

let's use FR for what it does best - send this video of Kerry sticking both feet in his mouth - a great gift to us!

http://hotair.com/archives/2006/10/30/audio-john-kerry-on-americas-lazy-uneducated-military/

send to at least 5 of the top outlets on the list below - separately - I don't believe they accept multiple mailings - So - FREEPERS - remember the rule of thumb for the media to cover a story - they need to get 40 to 45 emails on it - their formula tells them that each one they hear from represents 1,000 others who are interested.

SO, here's our chance to do our bit for the election. (and Kerry gave it to us on a silver (tarnished) platter.

Get busy with the emails to FOX, Rush, NBC - and don't forget your local outlets.

and send it out to everyone in your email address box and tell them to do the same - you would be amazed at how many thousands of people it can reach within an hour!

C'mon FREEPERS, let's remind 'em who we are and what we can do...let's prove that FR hasn't become lazy and degenerated into just a feel good chat room.

It was seared, SEARED into his memory that "President Nixon" sent him into Cambodia in Dec. of 1968. The
President who actually took office on 1/20/69, and there's a question as to whether or not he really did go into
Cambodia (and if he did he was disobeying regulations).

I will say that I'm voting for Kerry on Nov 7...Mass. Gov. Candidate Kerry Murphy Healey (the current
Republican lt gov) that is! As for that other Kerry, he's up for re-election in '08 and has to choose between
running for Senate or Pres. It's possible he'll start off running for the latter, then after a few primaries
where he's squashed by Hillary or Obama, he'll pull out and resume his Senate campaign.

btw Bush's Yale GPA was higher than Kerry's. Also, if Bush is such a dummy, how come neither Gore nor
Kerry could defeat him? If Kerry is so smart why didn't get go after the Swift Boaters for the Truth? That
ad ran so many times and Kerry had so many chances to dispute it, and now he says he wishes he had.
By rights, Kerry should have not only won but won by a landslide, since he's so smart...what happened, John?

I posted this on the other thread, but it bears repeating.

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

He says we are distorting this comment. Someone want to explain to me what there is to distort?

Look at these two parts specifically.

"...make and effort to be smart..."
"If you don't you get stuck in Iraq."

Nothing there to distort Kerry, you piece of sh**. You directly insulted our military men and women over there along with all the contractors and consultants who are over there helping them rebuild.

The MSM are political orgs, who hire political hacks, to run a 24/7/365 campaign against Republicans.

And have for 40 years, they have no credibility to lose.

When I heard Rush reading this, I thought it was a parody or that Rush had fallen for a spoof. Exponentially too funny! Unbelievable that this comes from a U.S. Senator. And you KNOW Rush is loving this - he OWNS Kerry now!

Putting aside Kerry's totally beside the point rant, Kerry's insult to the military comes straight out of the 1960's. The smart kids go to college, the dumb kids go to Vietnam. Kerry hasn't learned a thing in forty years.

I was in Afghanistan in November 2004, watching the election results with a large group of troops who were thrilled with the re-election of President George Bush. The thought of a "President Kerry" was a nauseating concept to most everyone over there, especially the officers (oh, who happened to have a college education, as well as a number of the enlisted....)

Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men.

The problem is the Republicans can't FIND a "real man" to debate in the dem party.
