Joe freakin Piscopo was on my answering machine today.

He was? Let me guess - you'll never delete that message, right?

So far we've heard from

Dubya

Rudy

McLame

Jim Ryun (my incumbent)

And several "issues" messages from folks who toil in anonymity :)

The GOP needs to tell the Crying Commies to shove it. When their MSM decides to cease and desist, we'll think about the phone calls.

This is just part of the Demagogue preparations for screaming "waaah, waaah, unfair" if/when the Rs do much better than had been projected by the MSM/pollsters. I got the email below this evening (I'm a troll on the DNC list to monitor what they're up to). As usual, they are preparing to make all sorts of bogus complaints about "voter suppression" and "intimidation"..... they even have a web link to collect complaints/fantasies from whiny leftist. It might be fun to flood that link with bogus complaints, but it would be much too dangerous because they'd just count the #s of forms filled out and say "we've had X number of complaints about outrageous voter suppression/intimidation/harassment"..... what b.s.

Dear

There's one thing everyone who wants Democrats to win tomorrow needs to remember: be prepared for anything. We offer a fresh start and a new direction, but each and every Democrat must get to the polls to make our vision a reality.

Reports of voter suppression and potentially illegal tactics have already begun surfacing in districts where Republicans seem to be heading for defeat. That's why it's so important that you vote. From repeatedly harassing phone calls to disgusting flyers sent to Hispanic voters, they're trying everything they can to keep Democrats from voting.

No matter what the other side does to try to keep Democrats at home, we have to continue our person-to-person outreach for this final stretch. Our democracy can withstand these tactics if every one of us lives up to our responsibility to engage our neighbors in this movement to take America in a new direction.

We've put together the resources you need to spread the Democratic message and reach as many people as possible. Here are just a few of those resources:

Find Your Polling Place
In addition to allowing people to report election irregularities, the 1-888-DEM-VOTE number also provides your polling place. You can call, or find your state's polling information here: http://www.democrats.org/pollingplace

Last-Minute Volunteers
The best way to volunteer at the last minute is to call your local Democratic Party: http://www.democrats.org/volunteer/call

Print Your Own Flyers
The Democratic Agenda: http://www.democrats.org/agenda/vision
Voter Protection Info: http://www.democrats.org/voterprotection/materials

One look at those flyers will remind you what we're fighting for in this election.

What do the Republicans offer us? Spiraling costs in both human and monetary terms with no accountability and no plan in sight for Iraq, more people working full-time just to live in poverty because the minimum wage hasn't changed in a decade, and more people suffering in silence because, just like 45 million others, they don't have health insurance.

The vast majority of Americans have had enough. That's why the Republicans have resorted to doing anything they can to distract or deceive voters.

But we Democrats have our own plans, which couldn't be clearer:

Honest Leadership & Open Government
We will end the Republican culture of corruption and restore a government as good as the people it serves.

Real Security & A New Direction in Iraq
We will protect Americans at home and lead the world by telling the truth to our troops, our citizens and our allies, and we will heed the advice of our commanders on the ground and force a change in the failed Republican strategy in Iraq.

Energy Independence & Lower Gas Prices
We will create a cleaner, greener and stronger America by reducing our dependence on foreign oil, eliminating billions in subsidies for oil and gas companies and developing energy alternatives.

More Jobs, Better Pay & College Access for Everyone
We will create jobs that stay in America, raise the minimum wage, and open the doors to college for every American.

Healthcare that Works for Everyone & Life-Saving Cures
We will join 36 other industrialized nations in making sure everyone has access to affordable health care, and we will make decisions to invest in stem cell and other medical research based on science, not politics.

Retirement Security
We will ensure that a retirement with dignity is the right and expectation of every single American, starting with protecting workers' pensions expanding saving incentives and preventing the privatization of social security.

I can't stress enough how important these final hours are -- and because of the Republican voter suppression tactics, every one of us will need to do even more.

If you or someone you know has any trouble voting or is harassed in any way, please take down as many details as possible and report it. You can report any voter suppression or election irregularities by calling 1-888-DEM-VOTE. You can also report problems online here:

http://www.democrats.org/voterprotection/report

You'll hear a lot of predictions over the next day or so, but ignore both the good ones and the bad ones. We're got to work, work and work some more until this election is over. There is no other option -- we've all done too much for too long to let this slip away.

The only poll that matters will be on Election Day and it will signal a new direction for America.

Thank you.

Governor Howard Dean, M.D.

Here too. For the NYS race between Sweeney (R) and Gillibrand (D), at least Sweeney's campaign office shows up on the caller ID and the call was made by a real person. I picked up the phone for that one. The rest of the calls are all automated - even from Ridge, McCain, and a few minutes ago, from President Bush. The only calls from the other side have been a constant and never-ending Gillibrand and Clinton's American Family Voices eating up space on my answering machine.

I'm in Monmouth County, NJ. I've received ten times more calls from the Democrats than the Republicans.. The Dems are starting to call me with automated messages in Spanish now!

Oh, yes, it's all-too-real, on DNC e-blast letterhead from the DNC's email address...... it's about the same in tone as everything else that seeps out of the cesspool called Howard Dean's DNC.

What's wrong with phone calls? Happens every election. Dems are children who refuse to grow up.

A caller on Rush Limbaugh said today somebody received phone calls at 3:00 A.M. pretending from the GOP!!!

Actually I got called by a good friend who was soliciting votes for the Democrats. We chatted for a while, and I felt virtuous, because I was eating up time he might have used to call someone else, plus we had a nice talk.

I have been receiving DAILY phone calls from Tom Reynold's campaign and friends. They have been REALLY nasty. They have not been telling what he will do if elected or why I should vote for him. Oh no. They have been the slimiest, dirtiest hate bombs about Jack Davis. I feel like I need to have my home disinfected, and particularly my mailbox, which has been inundated with Tom Reynolds hatemail about Jack Davis on a daily basis.

Now, I have no love for Jack Davis, but his one mailing told about what he would do if elected and while it pointed out the failings of his opponent, it was done in an objective, logical way. To his credit, I have not heard Jack Davis stoop to the depths Reynolds has - or if he has, it was not done in my face.

It is the constant intrusiveness and the tone of Reynold's campaign that disgusts me more than anything I have ever seen or experienced in politics. I feel violated in my own home and that has never happened before - at least to this extent. If I am not home when the call comes, I come home to find the hate-filled messages spewing from my answering machine. I would truly LOVE to be able to shut off this flow.

There is no way I will EVER vote for Tom Reynolds. EVER. If he would have just apologized and dropped it, I would have voted for him to keep the Republican seat. The overkill is going to boomerang back on him.

I'm not sure what the polls are showing for this race. Anyone know?

A security guy told me too always let my answering machine answer the phone especially if you do not recognize the caller.
