Let's see... I've got calls from Bill Clinton, Jimmie Smits, and a host of other actors, washed up politicians, and other miscreants urging me to go out and vote Democrat. Why? Because my new phone number was apparently originally owned by a guy with a Hispanic last name not too long ago. Coincidentally, this same guy also gets a lot of collection calls.

Funny how that works, isn't it?

I'm in CA.I've gotten about 12-15 automated and one live call from the GOP. Hell I love it but they're preaching to the choir with me.

. I've received ten times more calls from the Democrats than the Republicans...that's 10 times more calls the 'rats didn't get - with that kind of GOTV effort on their part, the 'pubs should do really well tomorrow.....

"Interesting. I've gotten one phone call from Laura Bush asking me to vote Republican, and about a DOZEN calls from the left pimping their causes."

NOTE TO FREEPERS: THE #1 WAY TO AVOID GETTING CR*P FROM DEMOCRATS IS TO GO VOTE IN A REPUBLICAN PRIMARY. THEN THEY KNOW YOU ARE "ONE OF THEM".

To be honest I hate getting robo-calls. I wouldn't mind seeing them go the way of the dinosaur.

One call from the GOP and a dozen from the libs? Wow, they really are outdoing us in Wisconsin. We've been calling people over and over in Oregon until we get their ballots. I'm surprised you haven't heard more from us party volunteers.

Wow, I dont know what call list you are on, but I've been getting calls from Clint Eastwood (twice), Ben Stein, Ahnold, Bruce MacPherson, Gov. Pete Wilson, George Dukemejian(sp), etc...

Guess it sucks to be you! (pun really not intended!)

>>A personal call is better than an automated call, and a personal call from someone you know is better yet.

I can't imagine that an automated call would change anyone's mind, but then I'm not a political pro.<<

Depends on what you mean by "better"

I have no guilt in hanging up on an automated call and very little for somebody I don't know...

I suspect the first couple of automated calls help get out the vote, not change minds and after that they mainly irritate.

Wrong approach. Get a different attitude.

We have a difference of opinion. Not everyone feels the way you do. Probably not even the majority. I kinds like my crappy attitude and will keep it. Thanks for your comments.

Burn your machine and the phone and demand the phone company replace them along with giving you a new number... ;-)

I live in Dane County. Home to 'The Peoples Republik of Madistan, WI?" It's completely blue (except for me and a few others) and Milwaukee and Dane counties are pretty much considered a "loss" for Conservatives in this state.

The libs had it right with the 12 to one margin for calling in this county. Besides, I sign up for all sorts of lib e-mail lists just so I can see what nefarious schemes they're hatching each day. ;)

I haven't missed a vote for the Republican Party since I was 18 years old. Twenty-eight years, already! Eeeek! I've been working for the Mark Green campaign (R, WI) for Governor for months now.

See my post #176 for an explanation about where I live and why the dims would call me a dozen times. Forewarned is forearmed, IMO. You play it your way, I'll play it mine. :)

I have received 0 calls. It is illegal in Indiana to make automated phone calls!

We get dem calls all the time, throughout the year. We rarely get Republican ones, although we've gotten several as this campaign winds down.
