What you are saying is in the pure political sense. The outcome of cutting out of Iraq without winning could be even more devastating, not to just the GOP, but to the people in Iraq who supported us. There may be the deaths of American citizens in terror attacks along with soldiers being reported daily. Americans just may not get it yet about the danger to their lives and freedom. These are unknowns that could impact the wind direction of 2008. Politics are not reality as we should see reality. Anymore, politics are all spin and who thinks about the cost.

[the watered-down deferential compassionate crap doesn't sell.]

"I couldn't disagree more. The last thing voters want to see is vengeant Republicans. "

I guess if vengeance worked for Pellosi and Reid, it can never work for Republicans.

I hate any food with coconut in it.

Well, you'd better start liking coconuts in your food. The democrats are all about more coconuts! Apple pie will be outlawed in favor of coconut pie!

I guess I wouldn't be worried if I thought that was all they were going to do.

Sorry, I was commenting on the post by jackdog but the moderator banned him so his name didn't appear on my comment. Instead the post made it look like I was referring to you. For that I apologize.

It is so true...the Democrats ran on "Hatred for Bush...vote here" and WON. Disgust is a powerful emotion, more powerful than desire in many cases.

That makes this strategy 1-for-3. Not good enough of a track record to descend into the gutter for.

"IF we dont wrap up the Iraq war fast, and favorably, we are doomed to a repeat of this in '08."

More then that it needs to be wrapped up period.

We never did convince the American people why we where there. Of course it was mainly the media’s fault but Bush didn’t help us and hurt us even more when he said Saddam had no responsibility for 911.

I agree with you. This was a referendum on the war, and the people spoke, loudly. Unfortunately I don't see a way out that doesn't include a lot of dead Iraqis.

In order to win in '08, we need to be out of the war by then. I don't think the Iraqi government, which is moving at less than a snail's pace to get its act together, will be up and running by that time. If we pull out, it's civil war. If we pull out we have a good chance of winning in '08, but at what cost? How many Iraqi lives?

The other issue is our standing in the world. Contrary to what the Dems would have us believe, our standing is the world is not determined by the French or any of the Europeans. With the exception of Britain, what the Europeans think about any of this matters not a whit. What does matter is the opinion of those in the Middle East. If we cut and run, we look weak. Our credibility in the Middle East and a good bit of Asia will be shot, for the foreseeable future. If the Dems think the war in Iraq is creating terrorists, they haven't seen anything yet. If the terrorists are perceived as having pushed us out of Iraq, it's going to be disastrous. This is not good at all.

I don't think "hatred of Bush" had anything to do with it considering congress had a lower approval rating than President Bush himself.

Plastic Pelosi says they are ready to govern, dimspeak for partial birth abortion, capital gains tax (sell your business NOW) reparations, total dependence on ME oil, appeasing North Korea, pulling out of Iraq, impeachment of President Bush and VP Cheney, taxes going WAY UP and the complete loss of American power in the "world view". Empowering the United Nations and not dealing with the communists in central and south America (welcome back Daniel Ortega) and all the crap that rains down from the Supreme Court when the dims take control. What fun and I want to thank all the spineless Republicans who chose not to vote, your message has been sent and heard, loud and clear.

So I ask this forum, what do we really hate?

Liberals.
Hypocrisy.
Big government.

In short, everything Republican party has come to be synonymous with over the past 12 years.

The most spineless Republican in the mix will be the one who does not veto anything the Dhimmicrats pass in the House and Senate.

It's time for Bush to stand up and be the man we voted for in 2000 and 2004. If he caves in to the Dhimmicrats like he's been doing for the past six years, then we can kiss 2008, 2012 and 2016 goodbye.
