Increasing the minimum wage was one of the 1st subjects Bush spoke on and said he could support an increase so long as Small Businesses were not hurt (something to that effect).

It sounded like a tax-break or a federal subsidy for the increase.

"The list is southack's."

I've seen it posted by at least three posters in its entirety with no heads-up to Southack.

Of course , if he follows the Clinton model. W is not our Party leader. He thinks he is right domestically and he is very wrong. So, do not expect a new or even lame duck Pub Congress to do much for him now and for the next two years. It will be a Dem domestic agenda and that will kill the Pubs Congressionally in '08. Unless the Senate and House Gop goes for new fresh conserv communicators, the Dems will be in power to eternity. Unfortunately, Hugh Hewitt is wrong about his optimism about taking back Congress in '08. How can they if they do not stand up for their ideals and issues?

The pleasure in Bush bashing is accompanied by complete ignorance of what he has been doing.

Maybe you're right though. Maybe she's just an irrational newbie with a bad temper and an even worse case of ignorance, but the combination of comments she has made here makes me think otherwise....

There have been trolls crawling all over the place since Tuesday night, onyx, trying to demoralize and divide. I see this emotional outburst as fitting into the overall goal of the left....

They're pretty obvious spouting their liberal BS taking points. They must think we're as gullible as those lefty lunatics.

"Another newbie trashing the President while claiming to be a conservative."

Why do you defend the man when he works against conservatives? Conservatives pre-existed the President and will still be fighting for our ideology long after he's a political memory. He DOES NOT define what we believe, what we support, or what the Republican Party's platform is supposed to be. He will be out of office in 2008. We need to start planning NOW where we go from here and to minimize the damage caused by the moderates. We also need to convince the Independents who voted Democrat last Tuesday that Republicans deserve to be back in office. Caving to Democrat demands will make that difficult, don't you think?

Do you really think conservatives would cheer on massive foreign aid packages, Sarbanes-Oxley, signing Campaign Finance Reform, support for a Republican-and-Republic-killing amnesty, trillions in new entitlements, massive federal education spending? Really?

The President is not alone in the blame for most of those listed above, but he certainly won't get kudos from the conservatives in the party for them.

Convince us with the potions of that list the President has done right, not with what he has not.

"Why is my troll radar beeping so loudly here?? LOL!"

Are you willing to debate the issues listed on that list or just call names? This is supposed to be a forum for conservative commentary and discussion. Is it?

The deal will go soemthing like this: the Dem leadership in Congress might go easier on the subpoenas if Bush nominates judges more like Souter and Stevens. I suspect that this is exactly what will happen.

Divide and conquer, rep. That's the mission.

Unfortunately the emotional, out of control malcontents here make it easier than it ought to be.

Those of us with our brains still in gear need to hold the fort until things calm down around here.

"Try reading the last line. "

That wasn't a ping to Southack, unless this forum's software works differently than I think it does.

Regardless, do YOU see EVERYTHING in that list as a positive?

I prefer to discuss issues with people I know are conservatives, as I am. Not with people who signed on a few days ago and mimic the rhetoric and bash the President.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings, Enoch.

He will chip away and have small victories some we will never even know aboutz

Pathetic fantasy. Not even worthy of a "toaster" on that photo thread/sewing circle.

Your Bush has spent four days crowing about how now he can finally get his leftist immigration plans in action. Next year he's going to sign into law a massive explosion in third world migration that will permanently kill American conservatism, effectively merge the USA with Mexico, and generally speed our homeland's slide into the abyss.
