Ditto.
Interior Decorators could retaliate. But then again, how many landscapers require their services?
"The federal law of public accommodations says if you hang out a shingle or open your door you dont get to say, Only to whites," - but if you're a Muslim cab driver you can refuse to take any passenger you want!
Sounds like a business opportunity for someone who wants to cater to that market.
I expected they would. Heterosexuals outnumber homos almost 100 to 1.
But don't you know?? Muzzies are different. It is CHRISTIANS we want to muzzle. Muzzies just have different beliefs and we have to honor them. Otherwise it is discrimination. Muzzies are MORE EQUAL under the law.
One has to draw the balance between being respectful to people and not affirming what one considers sin. I would not draw the line where these landscapers did. Doing landscaping work does not seem to me to be affirming sinful lifestyle. Refusing to provide catering to a same sex "wedding", on the other hand, would be justified as not affirming sin.
They just want to be left alone.
Free citizens exercising the right of free association.
Hey, if a gay company refuses to work with heteros, it's similarly well within its rights.
What I think is really weird about this story is not so much that a landscaping company refused to deal with homosexuals, but that they made the statement IN ENGLISH.
Bullshit. The queers were looking to start some crap and that's what they did. They're only saddened that they didn't take the Farbers down.
Capitalism ROCKS!!!!
This seems a little like a taco stand refusing to serve mexicans.
Try 10 to 1
Real world, non-inflated-for-an-agenda numbers seem to be in the 2%-3% range. So 30-50 to 1, say. 10% is just absurd.
Not even close. Realistic estimates place the homosexual population at between 2 and 4 percent. The most "liberal" exaggerations, which you've been duped into believing, say 10 percent, and they are based on the long-discredited Kinsey "study."
The gay "couple" didn't overlook the obvious religious references on this business' website - I would bet money that is a lie. IMHO, the couple targeted this business.
see post #18, I agree with you.
One of the two gay clients, Gary Lackey, said, Were hoping things would die down and declined to comment further in a telephone interview. The other member of the couple, Michael Lord, did not return a call.
Anyone else catch the gay guys last names?
