Mike DeLong Inside CentCom

If you want the inside story of what was being said and done at the top levels of U.S. government from the September 11th attacks until the fall of Saddam Hussein, you can ask one of two men -- Army General Tommy Franks, or Marine Corps General Mike DeLong, who was Franks' deputy.

Listen to Mike DeLong at link....

How about "not much"? I'm very disappointed in his advisors and aides.

With all our intelligence why wasn't the transfer of WMD to Syria on tape of filmed or caught from pictures in the sky?

Because Iraq is big enough that they could do it. Even if we happened to have had a satellite or aerial camera pointed at them we would not have been able to see inside warehouses to photograph what they were loading in the trucks.

How could no one see or speak up about this.

Because they would be killed if they did.

How can you hide a transfer of WMD without no one knowing?

People knew. They didn't talk.

We knew that Saddam was hiding weapons because our people were finding all kinds of munitions that Saddam had hidden in schools and homes all over Baghdad. He was burying entire aircraft in the desert that we only found when the wind blew away the sand and uncovered the tail fins.

Of course he would have hidden his precious WMD.

Thanks for the PING! He sounds very credible to me!

I am waiting (but I won't hold my breath) for the media to give this General the same kind of recognition and reportage that they gave to all the Rummy-dissin' generals.

I am going to get very old in the meantime.

I thought Hal Moore had a man named Galloway write his book long after the war was over. Yes, Generals have written many books. Most wait until the war they were in is long over. Yes, Westy wrote a book. Many famous Generals and tacticians write books. I guess I am just opposed to Generals writing books while the war they participated in or planned is still going on.

QFE.

You are dead on.
I get real tired of the media reporting nothing but bad news. They never report the good deeds our military does. I have not seen one MSM outlet concentrate on our heroes either. It is all about what if'ing the troops and their commanders to death? What if the sky falls? What if we do this or that? Well, why not report facts-not sensationalism. Why spout the enemies propaganda?

"President felt is was better to let himself take the hits from the media then to put our troops in harms way."

How would keeping the truth about the WMDs put our troops in "harms way?"

During the "debate" at the UN before the war we (the US) took satellite pictures of a Caravan leaving Iraq going to Lebanon to the Bekka Valley via Syria.

Dr. Kay speaks of it in an interview I've saved. It's pretty obvious something was ferreted out of Iraq. We ALL know it!

It was talked about at the time on Fox News. It was also said that to go into the Bekka Valley to find it would be suicide for even our largest and best trained troops. Even Rangers and elite forces! To find it now would be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. The STALL tactics by Iraq's FRIENDS (and business partners)in the UN (Germany, Russia and France)gave them just enough time to get the good stuff out! (Good=bad).

I've posted the interview Tony Snow had with Dr. Kay on here several times. Which BTW, shows we DID find WMD's!

We've talked to troops who found NEW missiles that exceeded those allowed by the UN. No news mentioned of that in the mainstream media! That would be too patriotic of them and not supportive enough of the terrorists killing our men and women!

God forbid we supported this effort to stop people who want to see us all dead and to dominate the world!

Good on General DeLong. Shame on any Senator who didn't get behind the war efforts in the get go, which is the REAL reason things are going south now.

Shame on any General who badmouthed the Commander in Chief, which undermined our war efforts!

Shame on any EX-Presidents who spoke out during war which diminished a sitting president during a time of war!

United we stand, ... Divided we fall.

This is the most dangerous enemy we've ever faced. They are using force and pshycological warfare like we've never seen before. And it's working!

What's worst is Americans think they can wish it all away, go back to their play station II's, Game Boys, and Football games and this enemy will simply go away.

Meanwhile, they are teaching their children how to kill our children in their madrasses. While we are teaching our children how to be crybabies!

It's truly frightening!

Then we have a panel that is suggesting that we involve the Iranians and the Syrians in talks!

In other words... SURRENDER! WAVE THE WHITE FLAG!

How ignorant is that?

It's the Iranians and the Syrians who've fed insurgents and terrorists into Iraq! Now we're going to ask them for help? What??? Not only will they then be coming to kill us sooner, can you say goodbye to oil? Real soon?

Every person who was on that panel and agreed to that, has stood in line and spit upon the troops who've died trying to "protect" all of us from an enemy who will STILL try to kill us!

It should have been MANDATORY for all people to watch the be-headings of every person who was beheaded over there. We watched them. That's who our enemies are!

People need to watch the movie "Obsession". They speak clearly of their intent! A flag flying over the White House. They say Christians will get used to them owning the US, Brittain and they WILL dominate the world! AND.. they were VERY HAPPY with the recent elections! There was so much more. But we WILL be under their control. So far, it appears they are succeeding. Spain capitulated, Germany and Russia are afraid of them, and so on and so on! And now the Democrats and a few Republicans and even the American population is giving in to fear.

Americans overall are lazy and ignorant...and sadly, 9-11 wasn't enough for them.

Our troops are positioned to take care of this. There are enough there. What is needed is support from home and from our allies. Who WOULD have supported us if they had not seen such horrific messages from our OWN GOVERNMENT (Democrats yelling our President lied for oil, etc!) Horrific words going all over the world from our OWN PAST PRESIDENTS! Which has NEVER happened in our nations history!

God Bless President Bush. Never has a Commander in Chief, never has a President had to preside over our country under such difficult circumstances. Evil forces are at work. He has every one in this houses prayers and everyone we know. He has for a long time. None of this is new. He's never had the support from our nations capitol that he should have. Which is why the struggle he faces and we face has been Herculean!

God Bless our troops and this nation in the days ahead.

The problem is why hasn't the administration made this case???

The administration has done very little to defend itself.

They have done nothing!
Either the exposure of this could do so much harm in the middle east that they not dare mention it or it's not true.
If it were true and damage could be done then how could this administration allow the appeasing party to gain power without even mentioning a word.
Unless they know that no pullout will be done and little else in the next two years so they can make their case prior to '08.
If this is the case I wish everyone would just be honest and quit strategising all of the time.
Republicans included.

I checked it out and it won't be available until next year.
I saw Anthony Zinni was one of the authors.
Is he the guy that has been against the administration since the invasion?

I don't know. I'm busy with something else now but that's a good question. Let me know if you find out.
