Boston Globe Refuses to Reference to Bob Parks
New Media Journal ^ | 12/13/06 | Sher Zieve

After attending a Young Republicans conference at Boston’s Marriott Long Wharf hotel, Boston Globe reporter Tracy Jan spoke with Candidate for the Massachusetts GOP Chairmanship Bob Parks. Parks’ speech at the gathering is said to have been very well received and Ms. Jan even made sure to ask for the correct spelling of Parks’ name for an article she would be writing.

Bob told me that he asked Jan why the Globe had been snubbing his candidacy. He then advised me that Ms. Jan said that she didn’t know. However, when Jan’s article was written and published, Parks name did not even appear! Instead, Jan concentrated on a “moderate” Republican candidate who is also running for the MA GOP chair and referred to “others” as “wannabees”.

It’s beginning to sound as if the Globe is afraid of Parks, doesn’t it?

Well, the Boston Globe continues to decay in readership, revenue, and character largely because of this kind of thing. Whether it's the fabrication and plagarism cases a while back, or the libel case they lost to gubernatorial candidate John Lakian back in 1982, or sending obsequious and hungry cub reporters to do hatchet-jobs on targeted subjects ....or 'spiking'/avoiding coverage of those they oppose/fear like Robert Parks in this case...the effete leftists of the Globe predictably show themselves to be something less than real journalists.

Hello, Mr. Parks. I'm one of your out-of-state fans. I'm sadly not surprised by the disgusting treatment you've received from the Glop. Is Howie Carr giving you any publicity ? How is the Boston Herald treating you ?

Howie Carr is on my column list, so he knows I'm around (if I haven't been designated spam). I've been mentioned once, briefly in the Herald. maybe they think this is some kind of joke.

A black Republican! You kidding me...?

Heh, maybe they just think anyone wanting to head what is probably the most moribund state GOP in the nation is a hoot and a half. It's beyond shocking to see what 16 years of liberal RINOs managed to do to the party, going from nearly competitive statewide in '90 (and only 5 seats short of winning the State Senate) to caucusing in a phonebooth in '06. If you win the position, I'll offer you my prayers. The only parallel to the job would be serving as a GOP Chair of a Deep South state in the '50s... in a state that was, up until that time, one of the most Republican in the nation. A hearty good luck to you, sir.
