I think Hunter has a great future in a administration in a Cabinet post like Homeland Security. But he does not have the gravitas to win a national election for POTUS.
He's much more valuable in his current position or later in any admin.
Thanks!
The statement is correct, but the reasons why it is correct are faulty.
Based on the current condition of the RNC base, we are likely to lose our collective asses no matter who we put up.
The odds are better with a moderate who can garner swing votes from the other side to replace defecting Republicans, but the outcome will depend on who makes it through the Dem primaries.
I think that summarizes it nicely IMO....
I think it is a rational position to believe that who ever wins, will be less conservative than GWB, or at best a different flavor, and that is the current state of the political winds.
To believe anything else is based on hubris and not reality..
Certainly sounds promising. Three decades later, will another Californian once again step forward to save America?
If the GOP nominates Hunter, I absolutley would pull the lever for the Republican candidate. If they nominate McCain or Rudy, no way.
Got the hint. ;*)
LOL! GMTA!
There goes my dream team.
If I have offended you by mistaking you for some childish posters, I certainly apologize.
Civility in idea exchange is the first thing I have in mind.
No, no offense taken, and I look forward to working with you and others to elect whoever the nominee turns out to be. As bad as I dislike Rudy McRomney, those who are saying that he would be the same as Hillary are underestimating Hillary's capacity for downright evil.
Please don't do yourself the disservice of believing that that which is not consistent with your own opinion is hubris.
Worry about the base all you want. People who say we can't depend on the base to vote for a conservative president have to explain why a bunch of social conservative Dems knocked of Republicans on 7 November. Those who say we can run Rudy McRomney and get more votes have to explain why a public that likes left-leaners threw out a congress full of overspending moderates who look like McCain.
Also, can you imagine how badly Hunter would shred Hillary in the debates? Talk about must see TV!
People can make their own conclusions. I think he is VERY Presidential. And I think a lof of people will discover that once the campaign starts.
If I were him, my response would be "Ronald Reagan. Eureka College Class of 1932, B.A. in Economics and Sociology. How'd he do with that degree?"
