The report was issued more than a year after Sandy Berger pleaded guilty and received a criminal sentence for removing the documents. What criminal sentence? The sob received a slap on the hand but should have gone to prison for life

Significant portions of the inspector general's report were redacted to protect privacy or national security....and to protect the clinton legacy

Inspector General Says Former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger Hid Classified Docs

Why isn't this slime in prison. If you or I did this, we'd be in the slammer for sure.

I found one paragraph in what I believe to be the initial AP story somewhat interesting
[bold emphasis mine]:
"Berger, with the authorization of former President Clinton, was reviewing National Security Council documents on Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida, Sudan, and related presidential correspondence. The review was to facilitate Berger's impending testimony before the House and Senate intelligence committees."
That paragraph doesn't seem to be included in most versions of this story, but as of 0500 EST, it was still in this story:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061220/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/berger_documents_1
The question is, if Berger was acting with the "authorization" of his former boss, did that authorization include instructions to dispose of and sanitize anything potentially threatening to the "most ethical administration in history" as Emperor Billigula used to refer to his regime?
Too bad the Inspector General will probably ignore this facet of the alleged 'investigation' into Sandy Burglar's actions.

If this were a Republican, this would be front-page news. We know Berger will be let off. It's sad how we've resigned ourselves to the fact that some people are above the law. And there's nothing we can do about it.

Glenn Beck had a segment last night which was basically, whatever happened to the Foley investigation, the immigration issue, etc. The point being that the election of November 7 happened and all the stuff that had the msm's panties in a twist is no longer important. This information, issued a couple of days before Christmas and a couple of months after the election is of no import to anyone except those of us who give a damn about the future of our country.....and no one else is listening.

Can anyone, ANYONE, tell me what the clintons have on the bush's? I'm open to speculation, hearsay, conspiracy, or just plain facts. There must be a reason bush has not pursued the clinton crimes, a reason beyond "let's just all get along."

Covering up knowledge of pre 911 events.
Stealing the property of the Citizens of The United States of America
Manipulating a Congressional investigation by hiding evidence
Changing the Historical content and accuracy of the United States of America.
Sheilding a former president and a current senator ( clintons) from the fall out of Deriliction of Duty......eventually resulting in the slaughter of 3000 people on one day.
The result of all of this ...a minor fine, 100 hours of holding hands and a return to service with security clearances intact in the next administration.
When will the people on whole wake up?

The first story was that he cut the documents up in small pieces and put them in a wastebasket in his home. Now we're told that he put the documents under a trailer. Whatever, we're told it doesn't matter since it was all inadvertant which meant that he got to plead guilty to a misdemeanor instead of being CHARGED WITH A FELONY, BEING CONVICTED AND SERVING TIME IN PRISON!
To: Kaslin
Berger should be in prison. I wonder if AG Gonzales made the decision to give him a freebie, or if his boss told him to let Berger off with a slap.

Which is why I'm convinced there is a "Mary Macarthy" (the demcorat CIA mole) in Justice.
The way the whole Valarie Plame issue was hinged on Justice really pursuing that 'leak' while the REAL ones (SWIFT / Secret Prisons, etc) are left without answers.
The pathetic, laughable 'punishment' Sandy Bergler got (combined with the almost non-reporting of it at the time) is just more proof IMO.

WHY.....WHY did he put them UNDER a Trailer????Sounds like a DROP to me!! Or maybe he thought he was delivering them to Clinton!!

Wow, how timely and seasonal this story is! With Christmas just around the corner, Sandy's actions give new meaning to the term 'stocking stuffer'.
