HELP WANTED: RIGHTY FOR '08
NY Post ^ | January 8, 2007 | DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Posted on 01/08/2007 2:57:30 PM PST by chartnah

It's getting to the point where the conservative - dominant - wing of the Republican Party needs to take out a want ad in the newspaper or post a listing on Craigslist.com to find a candidate for president. In the field taking shape before our eyes, none of the top four contenders is likely to satisfy their delicate palates - made more arrogant and discerning by decades of victories.

Morris' wife.

Thanks. It's hard for me to picture him with a wife, not sure why. I've never seen her name before.

One problem is that the social conservatives control the votes, but the country club Republicans control the money.

That means we not only have to get two factions working together--social conservatives and fiscal conservatives--but we need to persuade the guys with the money that they have a problem if they run another RINO.

It's possible, but I wouldn't even know where to start. Last November's election was the most expensive midterm election in history, and I venture to say that all the big money boys and girls will be out in force for 2008. Hillary will raise a fortune, and the Republican candidate is going to have to match it, especially since the Dems will get their usual billion dollars worth of free publicity from the MSM.

That means getting everyone on board, one way or another. And there's not a lot of time to do it.

I'm sorry. I have been trained to ignore that response. I will keep ignoring that response as long as the MSM does.

Wanted: Conservative for President

Qualifications: Happy marriage, heterosexual, pro family, pro life, pro fiscal responsibility, pro 2nd amendment, anti illegal immigration.

Solution: Governor Mark Sanford from SC

(And I don't want to hear the crap that he supported McCain in 00. Everyone makes mistakes and he has not come out to support anyone in 08.)

I've heard of neo-cons and paleo-cons but I've come up with a new term describing us "patrio-con." We are conservatives who put America first.

He's a fine candidate. Also Duncan Hunter and Tancredo.

Some here at FR seem to think that victory is worth surrendering conservatism. I don't agree, that's all.

I agree -- we on the right DO have a problem. Newt is the mirror iamge of Hitlery in the sense that he is very polarizing, the others have a lot of work to do to get the name recognition of Giuliani and McCain.

Jeff Sessions or Duncan Hunter...

Waiting to hear more on Hunter on illegals. Jeff Sessions has the best record on illegals I have seen proven in action.
