Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.

"Wear Red" Friday

You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Cali still my gal & eating, drinking & grooming (good signs) but no ability to use hips back legs. She CAN move her legs/tail & so it NOT paralyzed. She slept on my chest & "talked" to me most of the night.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. —Psalm 46:1

People are supposed to call 911 for emergencies only, but many people don’t understand or follow the rule. Police emergency operators in Colorado Springs have received calls from people reporting a TV set that wasn’t working, asking when it was going to stop snowing, and wanting to report an identification theft while they remained anonymous.

I have often wondered if many of our prayers for help sound frivolous to God. It’s impossible to know, but there’s one thing we can be assured of: In our times of need, the Lord not only hears our cries, He is present with us.

Psalm 46 describes times of great calamity, including war and natural disasters. Yet it is a song of trust that begins and ends with the same affirmation: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. . . . The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge” (vv.1,11).

The Lord is always at work accomplishing His purposes—even when the world seems to be falling apart. He tells us, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (v.10).

We don’t have to fear. When we call for help, we know that He hears and will come near.

Though oceans roar and mountains quake,
And enemies deride,
We do not have to be afraid—
The Lord is by our side.  —Sper

God’s help is only a prayer away!

I wore my red hat today with a red peachskin shirt. My Red Hat Club meets once a month for lunch. We just get together and EAT and LAUGH and TALK! We highly respect and love our military.

Going off line for a bit..new monitor, printer, ergo keyboard, mouse-pad & will in process do some needed cleaning in area. If I don't really mess things up, will be back later

I passed up my black tie outing tonight. Had clothes, jewelry etc all ready. Just had an overwhelming day of MURPHY STUFF and late in day found out one of my friend's son's has died (college age).. Just don't feel too festive. In all my complaining about MY PROBLEMS, I know she would DO ANYTHING to trade places w/me with problems of life..

Putting things in perspective is interesting in life..I get ashamed of myself for having pity parties after hearing news like this
