Gov. Kathleen Blanco angrily criticized President Bush on Wednesday for not mentioning 2005's destructive hurricanes in his State of the Union speech, and said Louisiana is being shortchanged in federal recovery funding for political reasons.

"I guess the pain of the hurricane is yesterday's news in Washington," Blanco said at a news conference.

And how much of the massive amounts of taxpayer money already sent to Louisiana has been ripped off by local corruption?

Bush asked her to turn over control to him just before the hurricane, when it might have accomplished something. She refused to do so, and as a result, New Orleans was wiped off the map. Now she demands that Bush put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

It's your typical Democrat ploy. They are doing the same thing to social security and medicare. They block any effort to fix the problem, and next they will blame the opposition party when they go bust.

Does this woman ever have anything good to say about anything?

My God, the federal government has given LA zillions of dollars(probably way too much) and all this dame does is complain.

Ms. Blanco should stop whining and start leading.

Just as a point of correction, what destroyed New Orleans was not the hurricane....

said Louisiana is being shortchanged in federal recovery funding

Several billion dollars of Alaska's resource tax money was routed straight to Louisiana. Pure politics. Return our money, ingrate! so we can build our pissant bridges.

Louisiana is being shortchanged for sure, by having Blanco as Governor (she is really like firing a blank in a gun-all noise, no force).

Uh... whose responsibility is the state of Louisiana? Who didn't call for aid? Who didn't evacuate until one day before the hurricane hit?

Can't blame it on Bush.

"Bush was too busy leading the way for new taxes on employees who receive employee sponsored benefits."

Actually, his healthcare proposal will save me thousands in taxes.

"I guess the pain of the hurricane is yesterday's news in Washington," Blanco said at a news conference.

He also failed to mention the following:
9/11
8 years of Clinton
Jimmuh Carter and the fact that he continues to suck air
The Great Depression
The plague epidemic
The Tet offensive
Pearl Harbor
The Civil War
The 4 hurricanes that hit Florida in 2004 - 3 of them within 6 weeks
Etc., etc., etc.

This is just another useless Democrat in government who continues living in the past and says anything that comes to mind in an effort to be relevant.

Blanco is doing her Nagin impersonation and proving once again that LA politicians are the worst of the worst, but will continue to be re-elected.

Why doesn't someone give Blanco a $2000 debit card to shut the hell up?

Blanco is half right. The pain of the city is yesterday's news but the stench of incompetence from the LA Gov.'s office still lingers.

Blanco is channeling Spinal Tap.

Stop wasting my time
You know what I want
You know what I need
Or maybe you don't
Do I have to come right
Flat out and tell you everything?
Gimme some money
Gimme sone money
I'm nobody's fool
I'm nobody's clown
I'm treating you cool
I'm putting you down
But baby I don't intend to leave empty handed
Gimme some money
Gimme some money
Don't get me wrong
Try getting me right
Your face is ok but your purse is too tight
I'm looking for pound notes
Loose change
Bad checks, anything
Gimme some money
Gimme some money
