Neither one is worth my vote. McCain is delusional and there is no way a mormon is going to get POTUS.

I'll vote for Hillary before voting for those nut-bag when I die I'm going to rule a planet mormon's.

Come to think of it though, there probably are plenty of silk undergarments still hid in the White House from Bill.

"So who in your state keeps reelecting him in the primaries?"

There are a lot of people (voters) that don't read and write on FR. Many of them vote, vote Republican, are conservative.

It is false to presume the views seen on FR are an expression of Republicans and conservatives, the land over.

They are simply the views of FR writers. They have been proved to be different than election results, quite often.

So true. Free Republic predicted the pubbies would keep the House and Senate. I suspect that there are a lot of freepers who don't get out much(s)

As Abraham Lincoln once said:

"It is better to stay silent and let people think you are an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Think about it, please?

Why don't you do your homework on what I stated?

I have worked with these people for over 20 years and I damn well know what I am talking about.

Why don't you google Mormonism and check it out and you tell me that you want that in the White House.

Don't give me your crap about keeping my mouth shut when I have lived this with this group and have seen first hand what they are all about. You a Zoobie?

And I know what I'm talking about. I am Mormon. And you haven't the faintest idea of what you are talking about. I will leave others to judge between my posts and yours.

I left you a private post that I will not share with the rest.

I make no apologies for my comments as I ask all FReepers to look into the cult of Mormonism before they even comment on Mitt. When the book of Mormon is equal to the Holy Bible....I have a major problem with that. What would Mitt do? Instead of the Koran like Ellison he might put his hand on the book of Mormon instead?

I realize there is no test for office based on religion.

You are a wolf in sheeps clothing my friend.

"Mitt on the mind" is code for worrying that conservatives will ultimately desert Senator McCain for Romney in New Hampshire and across the country.

God help us if it actually came down to these two.
Go, Rudy!

Thanks for your links. For good or for bad, we may not have to worry about McCain come '08. Comments on other threads indicate his face is looking real puffy these days and there is some speculation the melanoma cancer may have returned. I have no idea whether there is any truth to the speculation. However, in '08 he may be too ill to pursue the presidency, or if he does his prior illness (and his age) may well become major issues.

Geesh! Another amatuer Mormon critic!

We are electing a commander-in-chief not a theologian-in-chief!

When Romney was sworn into office as the governor of Massachusetts he put his hand on the same Bible that his Father swore on three times when he was the governor of Michigan. So your argument about swearing on the Book of Mormon sounds very foolish and ignorant to me.

Also, the comment about "slithering" into the various levels of government...blah..blah..blah... You may not like them, but Mormons constitute in whole numbers the 4th largest church in America. If Mormons truly wanted to take over (what NONSENSE!) they could have done it a long time ago! Mormons are in no way interested in such things. However, we are very much interested in doing Missionary work and talking to anyone who will listen to us, but we do see it as a violation of the duty of office and the constitution to misuse any political office to promote one's religion! The very thought disgusts and it is very insulting that you would insinuate such an accusation!

From my perspective, this kind of sentiment eerily resembles the pre-Nazi Germany sentiment of the Jews. The Germans felt that the Jews have taken over, abused their positions of power and destroyed the economy. Doesn't this sound similar to your thinking.

Now, I wonder where does this thinking come from? It is my opinion that "strong" hatred of one group towards another is LEARNED. I lay the blame solidly on a minority of preachers who felt it was their duty to malign as much as possible the Mormons. I feel one can very effectively preach your point of view without going to extremes. I think this bigotry comes from that and that only!
