A Department of Peace.
Bill number update: As of 2007, we have a new Congress (the 110th). Therefore, the legislation to establish a Department of Peace will need to be re-introduced.
This will happen in early February of 2007. In the meantime, the previous bill numbers from the 109th Congress, House Resolution 3760 and Senate 1756, can still be used as a reference when urging your members of Congress to sign on as co-sponsors for the bills re-introduction.

Well today the GD came home from school with a pin that said DOP Campaign. She asked me to check what it was for her, I'd never heard of it before.
Of course it's our usual lefties & demorats trying to pass a new bill (looks like they've been at it since 2001 it started in Berkley, Calif) BUT the founder of the movement is none other than Marianne Williamson. These speaking engagements will create opportunities to meet others that may want to join your local team. The Outreach Coordinator can also coordinate tables at local events that will help get out the word and build interest in your local network.
Snip: The Student Peace Alliance chapters are the life blood of the Student Peace Alliance network. SPA chapters are organizing at community colleges, liberal arts colleges, universities, and high schools across the nation. By integrating efforts with local communities, SPA groups build strong partnerships with those outside school walls. SPA chapters support the Department of Peace through grassroots organizing, lobbying, and working to support cultures of peace on their campuses and in local communities.

The Department of Peace is the giant five sided building with all the guys in cool uniforms and model planes, ships, tanks and stuff. A Mr. Gates, Robert is the head of that department.

Ideas of who she can contact.
She's ticked because angel tree ornaments weren't allowed to be given to the kids...yet the school is passing out pins to the kids for them to wear started by The New Age movement & the lefty group of wack-o's.
She wants to expose this to the public, so other parents are aware of what the DOP campaign is.
I'm trying to find someone she can contact to help get the word out?

Every FReeper that has a blog should do a post on this. Call the radio talk shows.
What is the name of the school and where is it? See if you can get one of those pins from the school and any literature that was passed out (posters, etc). Find out who started the program at the school and if it's approved by the school board.
Since Kucinich is running for the Democratic nomination and this Dept of Peace thing is his baby, passing out the pins at school amounts to political campaigning on school grounds.
If you can get the basic info to me, I'll be glad to do what I can as far as spreading the word.
