The Canswer from ANSWER are planning to march on the Pentagon on March 17th. They are enlisting the help of UFPJ, World Can't Wait, and other groups. Mother Moonbat Cindy Sheehan and Jane Fonda are expected to attend.
From the ANSWER website:
---------------------------------------------------------------
March on the Pentagon Saturday, March 17, 2007
~ 40th anniversary of the historic 1967 march on the Pentagon ~ ~ 4th anniversary of the start of the Iraq war
On March 17, 2007, the 4th anniversary of the start of the criminal invasion of Iraq, tens of thousands of people from around the country will descend on the Pentagon in a mass demonstration to demand: U.S. Out of Iraq Now! 2007 is the 40th anniversary of the historic 1967 anti-war march to the Pentagon during the Vietnam War. The message of the 1967 march was "From Protest to Resistance," and marked a turning point in the development of a countrywide mass movement.
In the coming days and weeks, thousands of organizations and individuals will begin mobilizing for the upcoming March on the Pentagon. Organizing committees and transportation centers are being established to bring people to the March on the Pentagon.
The March 17 demonstration will assemble at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (Constitution Gardens) at 12 noon in Washington, D.C.and march to the Pentagon.

Well,
I finally have a handle on my time...so I can do the occasional freep. Let me know when and where..they don't desecrate my favorite place in DC (Wasn't in Vietnam, but when I was a kid, I used to go there all the time..good place to contemplate and think, not to mention pay respect to a generation that gave a lot, and got nothing for it).

Thanks for the thread. It will be used my me as a reference to others.
Hopefully people will get fired up for this protest. If they don't, it may be our last chance to really support the troops.

I will try to rally the ProtestWarriors, but with the site being down that will be difficult. The target of the protesters should be enough to get them fired up.
To: Thunder90; kristinn
PW site down again. Jeez, they need better fire walls. I haven't logged in for a while.
Some thoughts:
I think we should ask for donations to help cover costs. If our rally gets big, there are certain fees associated with big crowds. For those who can't make it, maybe they help with $$
Since the event starts at the Vietnam Memorial, I think Rolling Thunder and Patriot Guard Riders show be informed.
Maybe they and Vet groups can gather there and FR, PW and others can be along the march route somewhere.
Kristinn needs to be the main organizer point man with others help making contacts and putting the word out. Several FReepers from a previous thread were getting excited about getting the word out.
We have time to spread the word early so that it can be put in different organization's bulletins and newsletters.

Since this is months away, is there some way to contact some of the conservative groups and people such as Malkin, Hannity, Rush, and whoever to join in this thing?
I'm kinda confused why it seems that the DC Chapter is the only one staging rallies and counter-protests in this area.
Where are all the conservatives out there? Is there not enough to have a group of "tens of thousands" as the anti-war crowd?

It's closer than you think. But there is a lot of fire in FReepers belly to do something March 17. Just need a few days of down time to regain our sanity before the planning starts.

Given the incredibly low Freeper turnout we had on Saturday, it sure would be nice if those of you around the country reading this would come to DC and help us on 3/17. We can't do it without you.

We need to get a huge gathering. Again Rush Limbaugh and Shawn Hannity and others need to be involved.
To: Thunder90
We need to get the NRA activists involved, the anti-abortion people involved, young republican groups, Harley Riders, etc. etc. etc.
We also need to get name speakers.

Since I'm new here...TR, whadya think? In just a few short months Keith has already participated in more Freeps than most on FR will ever do in a lifetime. I don't think he should refer to himself as a newbie anymore. Agreed?
;-)
Keith, 90% of the organizing for the DC Chapter is making your own signs and just showin' up.
