"Finally we need to do a much better job of collecting the taxes that are already owed," he said, specifically targeting what he said are large amounts of unpaid capital gains taxes.

"We should have brokerage houses report the capital gains that people are incurring because we're losing billions and billions of dollars in tax revenue," Edwards said.

I seriously doubt he means actual sales that are not reported. Rather I think he wants to go after imputed or unrealized gains. In this, he's definitely trying to head off Hitlerly because under Beezelbubba there were a few trial balloons floated about taxing people on the imputed rental incomes of their houses.

He said the plan would also reduce healthcare costs.

Thanks to the ambulance chasing trial lawyers who made enough money to have a 28,000 sqft home, health care costs have gone out of sight. No doctor in this country likes to have to shell out the extra dollars for malpractice insurance, but the silky pony and his like, have made that a necessity.

Thanks for the idea, John.

You can fawn over Hillary (like you did with John F'n Kerry) when she accepts her rightful nomination and whole-heartedly supports your plank. You were at the party. You had your punch. The "Two Americas" them is too much of a contrast for a chameleon. Thanks for the support. You may now become the colorful smiley-faced foilage from which SHE emerges.

We'll have to raise taxes.

Works every time. Ask Mondale.

"We ask employers to play a bigger role"

The development of employment-based "health care" is one of the main reasons the system sucks eggs now.

Edwards has defined his 'Two Americas' for us all to see.

A local NC TV station did an interview with a couple good ol' boys that have a garage outside the entrance to the Edwards Estate. They couldn't grasp what a 29,000 sqft place would be... and mentioned that John hadn't dropped yet over to meet his new neighbors.

I've always thought that I'd done pretty well in life, but the Silky Pony has shown me that I'm much closer to Jeb and Bubba's America than his...

"said that he would raise taxes, chiefly on the wealthy..."

not a single one of these ding bats has given a definition of wealthy......

why don't they just save alot of time and effort and just declare having money against the law and then confiscate the contraband for the good of the children.

(mr. edwards would have to put himself in jail for owning so much of it......thirty million or thereabouts?

That's right. Use other peoples' money and not your own. After all it won't hurt you.

When Dims talk about "the rich" they're not talking about themselves or their limosuine liberal friends in NYC, Washington and Hollywood. They're talking about hard-working people who are trying to achieve financial security, which doesn't necessarily mean they want to be millionaires.

Edwards is totally out of touch and is your typical Democrat.

Edwards beats that Marxist drum of the rich capitalists soaking the poor. Now his definition of rich is family income of over $200K. Two GS-13s would qualify.
His divisive "two Americas" mantra ignores that 80% of millionaires in the US earned/not inherited their wealth. The US is loaded with social mobility. If the USA was such a place, why do so many foreigners want to come her?

As for healthcare, we need to get away from Government control and financing, and move toward more privatization.

Crooked lawyers like Edwards are the biggest reason that healthcare costs having risen so dramatically. Edwards has made a fortune on baseless claims of malpractice being the cause of cerebral palsy.

Precisely.

And, of course he's going to raise our taxes; he's spent his life taking money out of other people's pockets.

Is that Edwards' house?

How many trees died (on the property and to build that thing) for that to exist?

We should also raise taxes so everybody can live in John Edwards' comfy and cozy side of "America".

Only problem is there won't be enough stupid jurors to go around.
