I s'pect if that bunch of clowns we call Republicans in Washington DC exhibited less clownage as Coburn suggested, they would not now be a minority party. I also s'pect if these clowns weren't such a significant bunch of circus reprobates as they turned out to be, many many more local candidates that were swept away because conservative voters saw no point in wasting time at the polls would not have been swept.

If you lined up all national Republicans against a wall and gunned 'em down about every six to eight years, you would pick off a few Coburn like people that aren't a waste of air, but, for the most part, you would create a net plus for the party and the nation by replacing them.

You could likely say the same for Democrats, but the Democrat base is populated by Bozos so sincere they make National Republicans seem attractive by comparison. Now that should not be taken as a step back from the desire to see them field 30 caliber bullets every six to eight years. The ultimate goal should be national improvement, after all.

If only we could make it to where people where it weren't profitable to be a congressman and people only did it for the good of the country we would be in a much better place. The problem is now, we have people who can speak very well elected and no one with ideas on the hill. Because the people with ideas can't beat the speakers, and the speakers don't have any ideas to make money off in private practice.
