A Convenient Lie

A Convenient Lie

We are told there is a Crisis and it demands immediate attention by centralized national authority.  Those that might speak against it are themselves evil and cruelly motivated by hidden forces of property.  Only the true and good are allowed statements concerning the Crisis and their statements must not be examined, questioned or disputed.  If one isn’t able to accept all of this on faith, then that lack of ability is prima facie evidence that the citizen in question is questionable.

Normal and legitimate processes can’t be used because (1) they take too long and this is a Crisis, not a problem; (2) the processes are old and too outdated to deal with this New Crisis; (3) the processes are controlled or manipulated by the opponents to those who understand the Crisis; and/or (4) the normal, legal and legitimate methods of examination and careful changes for remedy are too defuse, not centralized and not over riding all standards that stand in the way of the Vision of the Anointed – those that really care.

We must understand that really caring is the attribute that trumps evidence to the contrary, built-in statistical error, faulty logic, and even outright falsehood.

Why does this all sound so familiar a scenario without specifics?

Three reasons come to mind.

First, it is the yearly repeated standard method of ideological leftists to thwart legitimate representative government processes and we have seen it on countless Crises for a century.  This includes government spending its way out of depression, hundreds of stumbling blocks to nuclear power and fifty-five mile an hour speed limits.

Secondly, it is the form of the current media hyped concept of Incontrovertible Human Instrumentality in an Almost Impossibly, Reversible Global Warming Event (IHIAIRGWE) that is being foisted upon all mankind as more important than Christ’s Resurrection and Hitler’s defeat.

Third, the general scenario and tactic are as outlined and exhaustively detailed in Thomas Sowell’s, The Vision of the Anointed.

I title these thoughts with the description I do to point out that things are just the opposite of what is postulated by former Vice President, Al Gore.

The Crisis is “convenient” instead of “inconvenient” because it is convenient for government planners and bureaucrats to administer, tax, penalize and punish for greater socialistic centralized governments’ purposes.

It is convenient because it is complicated and statistically difficult for the uninitiated and true independent scientists aren’t given to engaging in controversy outside of their particular fields or with outside forces that may diminish their livelihood.

It is convenient because as Hayek illustrated so well in describing the totalitarian regimes in The Road to Serfdom where he talks about the dangers of the twentieth century’s love affair with government planning as a means to a better world, it excuses centralized control and a complex solution capable of great evils in its details.

It is a “lie” instead of a “truth” because the truth won’t demand leftist solutions.

The truth of the history of the socialist controlled Rio conference shows us the lie.  That conference birthed energies promoting the west-destroying Kyoto “five year plan”, or Accord as they like to call it, and was just too obviously flawed to all concerned that even in the Clinton Administration this stinker was voted down unanimously.

It is a “lie” because a big lie is always simpler to sell than a simple truth.

It is a lie because almost everyone reading this has the feeling deep down that some years from now they will have to say, “Oh, I never really believed all that stuff, but the experts all insisted it was true.”

It would be truly laughable if not so tragic in its execution.

Particulate in the atmosphere came down drastically as technologies developed.  Ozone holes didn’t stay a dependable crisis and refrigerants were easily improved (but perhaps not from real need as volcanic studies began to show.)  So, plain old carbon dioxide gas had to be made the scoundrel.

Forget the problem that it was still unsure whether the gas fluctuations, apparently shown by some studies, proceeded and precipitated fluctuations in temperature data or followed it as earthy and oceanic processes of CO2  outweighed all humanly generated carbon dioxide by sixty to one.

Let me repeat that, all of humanity, and its purported evils in giving us a developed world, barely makes one and a half percent of the CO2 being generated!

If it wasn’t a “lie” why the Hockey Stick flaws to the simplest graphs?  Why the middle ages data has to be left out?  Why do they have to lie with distorted statistics, graphs and charts.  Forgive me for giving untrained armchair thoughts on science, but we have to talk about it because the scientists aren’t being allowed to even discuss it.  You can loose your certification and livelihood as a two-bit local weatherman if you don’t toe the party line.  For real scientific analysis, you can find it if you look for it.

The most plain faced manner to know that this is the Pilt-Down Man for our time is that the hyperventilating movie by Algore being nominated for an Academy Award was thought to have not enough impact and someone had to nominate the clown for a Nobel Prize.

Dynamite or a lie?  Plain in its explosive simplicity or the high-jacking of normal climate cyclic swings, with only a minor contribution by modern humanity, to create a leftist controlled planner state that leaves the developing polluting socialist countries immune from regulation and  gives centralized government the power to regulate us into economic failure?  I think deep down, you know the answer.

Hello, KC.

There is some opposition mounting to this nonsense.

I must say, Rush Limbaugh is doing excellent work. But there are folks here who have been collecting invaluable information from some of the unintimidated. They'll be along, I am sure.

I am torn on this one. I generally despise global and big government solutions. But, deep down, I believe we (humans) are effecting the planet in ways that could lead to devasting results. Deep down, I also believe that, unless our (my) party takes this issue more seriously we will lose elections, but may lose a lot more than that.

Please understand, I wouldn't refuse good reasoned arguements about human activity playing a part in this whole scenario. The problem is that such can't even be discussed.

If the proper reverence to leftist absolutism isn't shown, the entire discussion is dismissed.

is there some harm in chemicals being indiscriminately spread across the envirnment? Obviously. But few true scientific studies now wouldn't acknowledge that the whole DDT thing was political hype and more suffering has resulted.

What is being presented isn't careful prudent science -- it is religion, and a perverted one at that.

KC
This Crisis demands action from a centralized "World" authority. The nation is now discouraged. The nation is now a mere functionary of the "World" authority. And if the U.S. does not fall into line, the terrorists will be mad, and fly airplanes into our buildings. And France will impose a tax on us.

As our good concerned forum member shows at #6, the Vision of the Anointed method of Crisis puts true concerned guilt upon many prudent conservatives. When the arguement is constructed to be focused upon the entire planetary future, we are more concerned with being wrong then those who are inventing the hype. That is why it took a slow decade for the worry over the coming Ice Age to quietly die out.

We must understand that the Question itself isn't even important to these people -- it is the power gained in controling the "solution".

How true. The General Will always demands centralized rather than difuse solutions and "truth" can't be sacrificed to representative legitimate government -- it must be handed down by the Anointed as a decree.

Well, yes, we have that figured out. How to dispell the panic of the masses is the question. It is interesting that the UN report came out with the caveat that they would append the "science" within a few month. We all here know what's going on.

Yes, the media is telling us the FINAL ANSWER isn't from the contestant on the Millionaire, but instead from the guys with fake diplomas at the UN that gave us the Oil for Pay-offs program and Rwanda supervision.

Our unity is only brought about by respect for our countrymen. Most democrat voters are actually conservative in cultural matters as the state-wide referendums show. They are just ill educated and misinformed by the media and culture they are immersed within.
