- Rudy cut or killed 23 levies and taxes, saving taxpayers $9.8 billion during his terms.

Yes I know - I just fixed them. Apparently my HTML stinks. Too many spaces. They are fixed now. Sorry about that.

Boy is Newt hated. He is even more hated than McCain.

The Treason Media REALLY did a job on him. Nice to see Hunter up to 2% unfortunately the election needs to be about 50 years off for him to catch up at this rate of increase.

"I, for one, welcome our abortion-supporting, man-sex loving, gun-hating overlord."

No RINOs in 2008!!!

I'm amazed at the number of suckers who want the rest of America to resemble the turd bowl that is NYC.

"Everyone is saying 'only rudy can win'..." No they aren't. There is a difference between saying Rudy will win and saying he is the only one who can win.

BUT there is only one candidate who could beat him for the nomination and that is McCain who is even MORE hated here than Rudy. That hatred does not extend to the general public since he is no more unpopular than Rudy.

its only spam when its anti-Rudy....the pro-Rudy crap is not spam is that what your saying?

It was a joke, so lighten up a bit. I don't like the spam from either side but the negative spam is much more offensive to me and I suspect most other readers.

Don't you mean popularity polls mean squat?

But seriously by dividing the states into Red, Blue and Purple you can get an idea of what this would translate into in terms of electoral votes. All we would have to do to win is hang on to the Red states which is where Rudy does have a lead.

It is also interesting to see the trend in this poll which shows a slow but steady increase in the voters for Giuliani.

While there is no reason for Rudy rooters to claim victory this is NOT good news for the Rudyphobic no matter how you try and slice it. Particularly since it shows strong and solid support for him among the GOP. Support as strong as any candidate ever received.

Yes, because telling the truth about the non-conservative positions of Rudy is much more offensive than counting every little thing as a major accomplishment.

I guess JR needs to change the mission statement for this board from fighting for the conservative cause to supporting the most popular guy with an (R) next to his name.

SORRY BUDDY BUT NYC IS NOT A TURD BOWL! I suspect you've never been there - or have been there before Rudy was mayor.

He'd make a superb senator from New Jersey or New York...

Except that, as sitting mayor of NYC in 2000, he could never outpoll a cankled carpetbagger. The same person the Rudy boosters now say he can defeat.

If she can get her negatives down, so can Newt. And Newt hasn't had a chance yet to even try to get his negatives down, while Hillary has.

Neither can. Newt has less of a chance, because he doesn't have the benefit of the drive-by media and Hollywood. As long as I can recall, Hillary has been at least in the low 40s, so it will be even hard for her.

We must be realistic here: Newt has foot-in-mouth disease. He can be a brilliant explainer. But like a teacher, he often over-explains, muddying the original premise and opening himself to "whither on the vine" misstatements. So even if he could address his current negatives, he will constantly be adding new gaffes that he will have to correct.

Not to worry, Rudy hasn't been "Swift Boated" yet.

Rudy's ability to draw blue is going to offset the whiners in the base.

The key is Rudy's ability to draw the independent vote. In this poll, he is 20 points ahead of Hillary, 17 points ahead of Obama, and 29 points ahead of Edwards. That is where the election will be won or lost. Unfortunately, most independents don't like social conservatives. (The most socially conservative candidate, Newt, has a 18-54 favorable/unfavorable among the independents while Rudy is 62-16.)

If Rudy wins solid majority of independent votes, any conservative or moderate Democrat votes he attracts will only fatten the margin on an-already solid electoral win.

SO IT'S GONE FROM TRASHING RUDY TO TRASHING NYC. SO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THE MERITS OF YOUR CANDIDATE AND THE CITY THEY'RE FROM.
