Titanic Blasphemy
Charleston Gazette Forums ^ | 2/26/2007 | Pastor Terry Hagedorn

Posted on 02/26/2007 5:14:37 AM PST by Keli Kilohana

James Cameron and Simcha Jacobivici claim to have raided the lost tomb of Jesus. Proof? There are related people in a graveyard with the uncommon names Joshua, Mary and Martha! Oi vey!

Despite the faith of a millions of people in the Gospel (I Corinthians 15:3,4—the death, burial and resurrection of Christ for our salvation) and despite the fact that the resurrected Christ was seen and touched by his disciples, all twelve Apostles, over 500 hundred witnesses—at one time; and, despite the fact that devout Jews changed the day of worship from the seventh day to the first day of the week—to commemorate His resurrection and despite the fact that I know He lives—because He lives in my heart: James Cameron wants to act like he is the king of kings of the world! Titanic mistake! One day James will stand before the Christ he blasphemed. (Philippians 2:9-11)

"Simcha has no credibility whatsoever," says Joe Zias, who was the curator for anthropology and archeology at the Rockefeller Museum in Jerusalem from 1972 to 1997 and personally numbered the Talpiot ossuaries. "He's pimping off the Bible … He got this guy Cameron, who made 'Titanic' or something like that—what does this guy know about archeology? I am an archeologist, but if I were to write a book about brain surgery, you would say, 'Who is this guy?' People want signs and wonders. Projects like these make a mockery of the archeological profession."

Why don't James and Simcha try a animated documentary on questioning the life and works of Mohammed?

It would be unwise to proceed if they had 'succeeded'.

This is a sad reflection of the state of mind of the American people. The fact that he is saying this and not afraid he will be run out of the country. He thinks he will be some kind of a hero. He will have to answer for this.

He's obviously trying to feed off the interest in The Da Vinci Code.

Even supposing for the sake of argument that they did indeed have the bones of Jesus and His family...how would they know? How would they be able to prove it?

pretty lean evidence no mater how you stand on this issue...this Cameron is grasping at so many straws....at least Dan Brown had the decency to call what he did, 'fiction'.

"The fact that he is saying this and not afraid he will be run out of the country"

Why would you want someone to leave the country just for disagreeing with you? Considering how many people probably disagree with you, that would get old fast.

"Excuse me, sir, but I couldn't help but overhear that you believe the sabbath should be celebrated on a Saturday. I hope you don't mind, but could you kindly pack up and leave this country? Thanks a ton!"

This sounds interestingly like the premise for "Cross Bones", a novel by Kathy Reichs.

It is so popular for Hollyweird to run down the Christian faith. The other religions in Hollyweird , get a pass. . I am so sick of them knocking the only man who came down to earth and said to love one another and do good to those who curse you. They did not bury their people in boxes in those days they buried them in shrouds , aka the Jewish faith. Remember how Jesus was buried and of course the ol DNA. how does Cameron , a has been know whose DNA it is. How wacked out is this. I hope all Christian religions stand up and sock it to this guy . Me I would like to turn the other cheek and while I am turning put my fist in his jaw. I know all about it, Jesus said we must forgive them because they do not know what they do , but O Lord Just one punch right in the kisser. Pick on Mohamed or L Ron Hubbard , even Moses is looking down here shaking his head today. No matter what they pull Jesus will survive, I know this , but as I said O God just let me have one punch at this Hollyweird idiot!

Its pure economics - plain & simple. The more outrageous the claim, the more press they get. The more press they get, the more money they generate. When ethics disappear from professional standards of conduct, then information becomes suspect, and the market place becomes inefficient and ultimately dysfunctional. This is what has happened with our media, our courts, politicians... our society in general.

does it really matter.... it will take more than something like this to shake my faith. And I suspect it will have little impact on our ability to witness to the unchurched either.... if it really exists as described, I am sure there is an earthly explanation for it all.

He thinks he will be some kind of a hero.

Maybe he thinks he will garner a lot of free publicity.

This was already made into a movie, Cameron. I believe it was called: "The Body" starring Gabriel Byrne (sp?), and although it had the same provocative plot, it ended positively, and was a fairly good movie. Somehow, I think if YOU remake it, it'll be blasphemous.

Garbage like this comes out every year during Lent and approaching Easter. You could set your clock by it. Say or do anything outrageous about Christianity and you are guaranteed at least a week or two of fame by the MSM.

"does it really matter..."

Yes it does. The corrupting of the documentary concept has an impact on a large portion of the population that was raised by the counter-culture of the '60s. Stone got the ball rolling with "JFK". People in their twenties and thirties get their historical "facts" of that time from that movie. But that was just a movie. Michael Moore took the documentary to a place where fact has no meaning. Documentaries are driven by political agendas, regardless of the truth. "An Inconvenient Truth" is a further prodding of documentaries away from truth. While Moore's stuff is political in nature, the Al Gore piece shrouds itself in the mantle of scientific proof.

Cameron's film might as well been titled, "An Inconvenient Myth." The strategy is the same. What credentials do Gore and Cameron have to be experts in the fields of their documentaries? If Cameron is a non-believer, so be it. Just shut and make films. Leave archeology to the experts.

Who will it be, Gore or Cameron, that makes the documentary, "An Inconvenient Lump" and want to perform mastectomies on the Kodak Theater stage? These people are pompous asses that are allowed to spew their garbage because of the support of the radical left and a multitude of folks who have been left to their own devices to find an ethic and morality to live by.

So Dorothy, it does matter.

In my opinion, the less attention paid to this the better.... by speaking up and out against it, we are only bringing more attention to something that ought ot be ignored in the hopes it willg o away.... controversy = box office.
