Ann Coulter calls John Edwards "Faggot"

Best-selling right-wing author Ann Coulter, speaking to a conservative audience in Washington Friday, called former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., a "faggot."

Coulter was a featured speaker at the 34th annual Conservative Political Action Conference. Following her prepared remarks, televised on C-Span, Coulter was asked to talk about Edwards.

"It turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'faggot,' so I'm kind of at an impasse -- I can't really talk about Edwards," she said.

I go back and forth on Ann Coulter. These kind of comments are completely unnecessary and make conservatives look like idiots, but it's not as if the other guys are going to like us any better if she doesn't say these things. I do understand irony, but she is just way over the top sometimes. Then again, she is out there taking the arrows. And she's certainly no worse than James Carville.

I am a big fan of Ann's and have never really had a problem with her controversial pronouncements before. Now she's talking like a 14 year old boy. I used to be one myself so I know whereof I speak. I think we should expect a little more from adult discourse. Especially public adult discourse. I have no doubt she will be cheered on by many here. More's the pity.

Ann's schtick has gotten old. She is desperate for attention and headlines and lobs bombs solely because they get her attention. For all I know she could be an unscrupulous lib out to make conservatives look bad and making a fortune doing it.

Where is the righteous indignation being reported on the networks when there are rallies and public figures calling Bush the "Worlds Biggest Terrorist", "Liar and Murderer", ad infinitum?

That should be Ann's next question when she gets interviewed about her inference about Edwards. She infers that he's a sissy, (While I don't think he's gay, he sure fits the sterotype with the 400 pound wife and the fastidious grooming habits!)

This comment will have no effect on my relationship with Ann, she's funny like a guy and looks like a woman, if I can get her to start watching football there will be a future for us.

Besides, the end justifies the means for the Lib/Commie Democrats so any bombs our side throws against them will hardly elicit any complaints from me. Everything is permissible against the President and Cheney -- including murder. Just listen to Huffpo or Randi Rhodes.
