That he defends Tony Judt's "binational solution," which essentially spells out the end of Israel says it all. There is nothing "constructive" about that criticism. It is purely destructive of Israel.

The entire premise of Soros' article is ridiculous. He asks "How did Israel become so endangered?" and then blames AIPAC, PM Sharon and Pres Bush for following Sharon. He acts as if history started yesterday. He neglects that Israel was so endangered PRIOR to PM Sharon, by OSLO, which is what brought PM Sharon to power. He forgets that Israel ignored Hezbollah's five year build up on the Lebanese border that led to the war in 8/06. He ignores that the world has passively allowed Iran to forge headstrong towards nukes without a single penalty.

Israel, with the strong backing of the United States, refused to recognize the democratically elected Hamas government and withheld payment of the millions in taxes collected by the Israelis on its behalf.

Soros left out some very important details.

Hamas refused to recognize Israel's right to exist, and Hamas refused to renounce terrorism.

Gee, I wonder why Georgie forgot to mention that?
