Well, as much as I support Israel in this conflict, I oppose what these children are doing. I don't believe children should be involved in this way.

The enemy disagrees with you and vehemently insists on involving Israeli children. Israeli children are the preferred targets of Islamofacists wherever they can find them, schools, buses, kindergartens, discotechs, to inflict as much terror as humanly possible by killing the most innocent of victims. I think the preferred targets of Islamofacist aggression should be able to say and write what they think while they are able. Say and write what they think in hard words today, because they may be dead tomorrow.

I'm thinking these children could teach us in the US a thing or two about terrorism, fear and bomb shelters. This is probably not their initial exposure in this conflict. Chances are, they family members that have been killed by the very terrorists they are now fighting.

These kids are spending a good portion of their days in bomb shelters because madmen are indiscriminately firing missiles at their homes. Let them inscribe the shells that are being fired back at these men, and know that they are being protected and that their country has the power to hit back.

Those kids are in the path of numerous randomly fired rockets intended to hit civilians. The Muslims want to kill these girls. They could be killed any minute. Maybe they are dead right now. If the girls were a few years older, they would be in the military trying to defend their little sisters and brothers. I see no problem with letting them get involved.

G-d help us all. I know you're right.

But paraphrasing one great Israeli statesman (or rather stateswoman), and adapting it: I don't hate them just for killing our children, or making us kill theirs. I hate them for killing childhood.

Man lost paradise through disobedience and arrogance, and sometimes I think, every day we lose a little more: when we give in to rage, or when we do not confront evil head on.

We should not be celebrating death. Nor encouraging our chidlren to. Nor should we fear it. We should face it, as a fact of life, and as part of the journey back to G-d. We should face our enemies with courage, resolution, fortitude, creativity and righteousness.
