April 15, 2007 -- WHEN the three lacrosse players accused of sexu ally assaulting an exotic dancer were declared innocent Wednesday, North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper said the Duke University students were victims of a "rush to accuse" by a "rogue prosecutor."
But Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong was far from the only one pointing fingers at Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty and David Evans.
The wild accusations of the lacrosse players' guilt began within weeks of police finding the dancer passed-out drunk in her car in the early hours of March 14, 2006.
Crystal Gail Mangum, then a 27-year-old single mother and escort-service worker who attended North Carolina Central University, told them she had been raped, sodomized and beaten while working a party at 610 North Buchanan Blvd., a house rented by the three captains of Duke's lacrosse team.
By March 24, although the victim had not been able to identify any of her accusers and it had been revealed that she'd made a false claim of rape as a teenager, Nifong ordered DNA swabs from the 46 white lacrosse players.
On April 10, it was revealed that no DNA matches had been made with the players. But then:
* On April 15, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition stepped in,...
* Al Sharpton told Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly...
* On May 2, the New Black Panther Party came to town and marched...
A vigil was held to show solidarity with the accuser by some 200 Duke students and faculty members,

Turns out you're also a lynch mob.
What will be truly interesting is if the tenured vigilantes on the Duke Staff are to be held civilly liable. Wont that be a fun circus to watch.
The media could have stopped this at any time if they had been willing to ask hard questions of Nifong—like, when did DNA stop being a reliable indicator of innocence?
Or, had they asked hard questions of the accuser (who was still pole-dancing at the Palladium while candle light vigils were being held for her outside the house)
Instead, the press loved this story—and hated the defendants (if you don’t think so, check out the adjectives used to describe them; these weren’t typical college kids; these were fairy-tale monsters you could use to frighten your children)
This has been ‘Scottsboro II’, with only the colors reversed, and no Judge Horton around to stand up for the truth and justice.
Saw Rev Al interviewed by Chris Wallace on Fox this morning. He STILL refuses to apologize.
He and Jackson are scum.
“I am black. I am woman. I am prejudice.”
Turns out your also a Racist!
Pray for W and Our Troops
In the pic: a bunch of angry, humorless, man-hating feminazis.
Despite that? Because of that!
gee, where’s the black woman holding the sign screaming her blackness??
Nothing but a bunch of white self-haters in that pic.
But, if haters really hated themselves, and being haters they just gotta be liberals, and being liberals they just want to kill everything they hate, a question is posed: Does the law against suicide really prevent self-haters from killing themselves or are they all just confused?
Will the lacrosse players be appearing tonight on "60 Minutes"?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm,2’nd one on the right must have had a bleach job and a sex change !!!
Don’t hold your breath.
I find it interesting how a person with a great career would put that career on the line for a stripper/hooker and lie for that person. Why? What was the driving force for his actions? Doesn’t make sense.
The MSM coverage of this has been incredible. Did the Lib Tim Russert even mention the Duke case on “Meet the Press”? It seems to me that NBC and the rest of the MSM are more concerned with what Imus said than the false accusations against the Duke lacrosse players.
He and Jackson are scum."
And Whorealdo thinks Sharpton will be this millenium's greatest civil rights leader??????
He's not sharp, nor civil, nor right.
Shame on Fox and others for giving these scum a platform to spew their bigotry.
Preposterous!
LOL...
Sure it does. He saw an opportunity to embellish his own prosecutorial reputation, characterize himself as an ethical crusader against racism and white privilege, and to increase his chances for re-election. I’m my view a disturbingly high percentage of politicians are driven by their need to be special and to show the world how important they are. Hillary is a perfect example. These types of people would not be satisfied if what they purport to support went forward without them getting the credit. It’s highly ego driven.
