Rush Limbaugh: It's All About the Clintons and '08 (80% chance HRC pres)
Rush Limbaugh ^ | April 16, 2007 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 04/16/2007 11:59:05 PM PDT by FairOpinion

But we're gearing up for this election, and if you don't think that in the Drive-By Media and the Democrat Party, if you don't think 2008 is all about the Clintons getting back in the White House, you've got another thing coming. I'm going to tell you as we sit here today, there is an 80% chance that Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the United States, if you look at the way things are falling out right now. They're trying to take out Rudy Giuliani. Guess what? Rudy's a "draft dodger" now. Did you see the story over the weekend? Well, Clinton was a draft dodger so they got Rudy. Rudy's a draft dodger. Whatever was said about Clinton, they're going after it. Rudy is a draft dodger. Rudy is a philanderer.

Whatever it is, they're doing everything they can to take Rudy out.

But I'm telling you, I know the Clinton machine. If you think they are seriously worried about somebody with as little experience as Obama has in these kinds of things, then you're falling for it.

You're being sucked in for all this. There is an 80% chance this woman is going to be next president, as things sit here today. In politics, everything can change, and it can change on a moment's notice.

It's also about making sure that if Mrs. Clinton wins and so forth, that there won't be an alternative media. Hello, Fairness Doctrine. Hello, all of these things to just squelch it. They don't want to hear it. They want to go back to their monopoly days. That's what this is all about.

do you live in NYC?

I don't need to live in New York to see that RINO Rudy is a liberal and anything but a fiscal conservative. But, those facts don't seem to matter to dumb and deluded people that want to nominate a liberal and believe he is a conservative.

Dumb, dumb, dumb....

we weren’t able to advance conservatism with senators Allen, Santorum or Talent either. Or with challengers like Katherine Harris. do you know why? BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET ELECTED.

You can advance ANYTHING if you lose.

I know Rush is not a Rudy supporter - what happens if Rudy actually wins the nomination, I imagine Rush is going to offer tepid support.

But at least Rush understands the Clinton strategy here - take Rudy out first, use the social conservatives to help do that (and they are dutifully doing their part on FR as we can see), then when a second tier candidate like Thompson is nominated, they will be able to define and marginalize him quickly.

Great post, you are exactly right. Rudy will be left dangling in the breeze with no help and no chance and who ever is the dem nominee will win in a cake walk.

As much as I like Rush, I have to say “Rush, put down the pain killers”.

Well, give Rush a little credit...some of this is hyperbole in order to 'sound the alarm'. Nonetheless, I do believe that the Clinton campaign not above using every dirty trick in the book to improve her chances.

Besides, aren't you just a little curious to witness the existential horror of Hillary being inaugurated, and then a year or two later, Bill becoming Secretary-General of the U.N.?

Exactly right. It is amazing that people can’t see it.

You can advance ANYTHING if you lose.

No, conservatives can't advance anything is a liberal is office. Worse, with a liberal Republican in office, it's impossible to stop left-wing legislation.

But, the biggest misconception you seem to have is that a conservative can't get elected to President, despite the fact a Republican has held the Presidency for 20 of the past 26 years. That's a loser's mentality in addition to being a false premise.

sure, Hillary in the white house and a Dem congress is going to stop left wing legislation. you think we are going to shut down the government and block everything by holding 40 votes in the senate, every single time? never happen.

Many of Giuliani’s liberal impulses will most likely be thwarted by forces in his own party. Just as conservatives forced Bush to forget about Harriet Myers, Giuliani will be hard pressed to nominated liberal judges without a strong backlash from conservative Republicans.

In other words, what Rush is saying is that the only thing standing between the clintons and the Oval Office is Rudy Giuliani.

(In my final post, I will be adding Rudy’s comments about Justices Roberts and Alito, which are, of course, in stark contrast to clinton’s here.)

I learned Rush’s power of prognostication far earlier, in the run up to the First Gulf War. Right before he left for vacation he said “no war” and predicted a last minute diplomatic settlement. He was quite embarrassed when he had to return hurriedly to the golden EIB microphone a few days later when the bombs started dropping.
