Moreover, it's just information -- descriptive data. We've also been told he's from Centreville, VA. That's not "compelling or germane", either. But it is descriptive information in the best journalistic tradition of who, what, when, how and where.

Speaking for myself, I'm unaware of any crazed racist mobs gathering to round up and exterminate the Asians.

And, if she were honest, Janice Lee isn't aware of any either...

Did the authorities hesitate to release the description of the killer after the first two murders because he was Asian? We’ve seen that practice thousands of times in this country, and this letter is part of that PC mentality.

These are the Un-American Asian Journalists. This is a call for censorship of news and even blogs.

Why is ethnicity to be more protected than gender or sexual preference? Why should we ignore it if Muslims are shooting at us (the two in DC and the one Rudy is still pretending was just crazy so he could grab more guns)? Or if women are shooting at us (like a local woman who got up on the local railroad viaduct with a deer rifle and pinned down the town cops and sheriff and deputies for several hours)? Or reporting on Waco?

There is no evidence at this early point that the race or ethnicity of the suspected gunman has anything to do with the incident, and to include such mention serves only to unfairly portray an entire people.

Referring to him as hailing from Centreville has nothing to do with the incident. Referring to him as a man has nothing to do with the incident.
