His comments didn't remotely reach the level of yelling "fire" in a crowded theater.

Of course they did.

Given the timeframe, the venue and the content, his comments could well have created a panic and subsequent injury.

Its making sense now. He’s ticked off alot of people and he’s well known on campus. Someone saw a “gotcha” opportunity here and dropped a dime. Kid is just a rebel rouser.

Being an insensitive misanthropic jerk isn’t (or at least shouldn’t be) illegal.

Wierdo city to the max.

It is a little patch of liberal stupidity in a sea of illegal aliens. My dad will be retiring from there (UC Boulder). Hopefully before the libs drive him insane...

Good summary.

Hard to see how any of this could be interpreted as a threat. Sounds like he is deservedly unpopular, self-centered, immature and terminally narcissistic.

But that is his right.

Several witnesses told investigators the student said he was "angry about all kinds of things from the fluorescent light bulbs to the unpainted walls, and it made him angry enough to kill people,"

Isn't this why we use to have insane asylums?

Max’s problems look like they come from poor parenting.
= = =

Please indulge me . . .

Such problems [evidently—for legal purposes] come from poor parenting.

The country definitely is in a twitchy mood, which is a bit understandable given recent events, but it was there even earlier, e.g.,

Zero-Tolerance Watch
http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/article.html?in_article_id=44339&in_page_id=2

And we do mean “watch”! “A fifteen-year old boy in America was incarcerated for twelve days, wrongly accused of making a hoax bomb threat—because his school had forgotten that the clocks had gone forward,” reports Britain’s Metro Cafe:

Cody Webb was arrested last month, after Hempfield Area High School [in Greensburg, a suburb of Pittsburgh] received a bomb threat on their student hotline—which provides a range of information to students about the school—at 3.17am on March 11th. They believed they’d found the culprit when they traced the phone number they thought was responsible to Webb.

Unfortunately, they forgot that the clocks had switched to Daylight Saving Time that morning. Webb, who’s never even had a detention in his life, had actually made his call an hour earlier.

Despite the fact that the recording of the call featured a voice that sounded nothing like Webb’s, the police arrested Webb and he spent 12 days in a juvenile detention facility before the school eventually realised their mistake.

Webb gave an insight into the school’s impressive investigative techniques, saying that he was ushered in to see the principal, Kathy Charlton. She asked him what his phone number was, and , according to Webb, when he replied “she started waving her hands in the air and saying ‘we got him, we got him.’ “

The Metro Cafe Web site accompanies the story with a picture of a timepiece atop the caption: “Clocks: fiendishly complicated devices.”

Clearly HE has a bad, bad case of chronic PMS to the max.

>>At Oregon’s Lewis & Clark College, another student was detained by campus police Wednesday shortly before a vigil for the Virginia Tech victims when he was spotted wearing an ammunition belt. Portland police later determined that it was “a fashion accessory” made of spent ammunition, and said the man did not have a weapon. The belt was confiscated.<<

The chains are being tightened, one small link at a time. You can hardly even tell that it’s happening.

Don’t even think about wearing a t shirt with a political slogan that I don’t agree with...you’ll annoy me and I’ll have you arrested.

Or if you wear a Ruger or S&W shirt or cap you’ll annoy me and frighten me and I’ll have you arrested.

And if you war an military/cammo item it will frighten me, thus breaching the peace and I’ll have to have you arrested.

Tell me anything that hurts my well being and self esteem and I’ll have you arrested for demeaning me and annoying me.

You menition church or Christ around me and I’ll feel threatened, uncomfortable, annoyed and so I’ll have to have you arrested.

Damn...that slippery slope sux sometimes, don’t it?

Your dad must be quite a guy to endure such anguish for that many years. Seriously, the hard left are not “normal” human beings.

Again, "disturbing the peace" has been an offense in law from the time of the Founders until now.

The slope hasn't been very slippery over the past 220 years.
