Words fail me. They’re going to nail the TROOPER for not making a 60 year-old GROWN MAN put his seatbelt on? Oh, no, it’s not CORZINE’S fault, it’s the TROOPER’S fault.

"State Trooper Robert Rasinski, 34, has also come under scrutiny for allowing the governor ride without a seat belt"

How about doing 90 mph? Sheesh. In any event, he can still cite the governor but that would probably be "scrutinized" too.

Sounds like Corzine had a false sense of security or was in denial that he could ever be injured. Kinda like some idiots feel about the Islamo-fascist threat. Stupid, dangerous mind set. But we suffer for their putting their power over what is best for our country.

Corzine's driver, State Trooper Robert Rasinski, 34, has also come under scrutiny for allowing the governor ride without a seat belt

isn't the governor a grown-up?

Rasinski, who has been part of the state police executive protection unit for a year and is in his eighth year as a trooper, had two prior accidents on the job. One accident, in which he slid on an icy road and hit a guard rail, was deemed preventable, according to New Jersey State Police Capt.

And they assigned him to drive the Governor??

It gets worse- from The Philadelphia Inquirer today:

"I don't care if he was doing 100," Jones [president of the New Jersey State Troopers Fraternal Association] said. "The issue isn't speeding. The issue is some guy who panicked and lost control of his vehicle. And the governor is the victim of that domino effect."

If there is a next time....drive slow if occupant will not buckle up.

What an idiot this governor is. Long before there was a seat belt law...a friend told me about race track drivers. They've have bad wreaks...all would walk away without any injuries totally due to their seat belts. The only one that was injuried was when his seat belt failed. From that time on I've always worn a seat belt. Again I say...this governor is an idiot!!!!

"In some respects you have the fog of war there in the beginning," Fuentes said. "You have a very major event. You have a lot of different variables in that event. The investigation is at its very earliest phase and things are going to change."

There's two types of cops in this world --those who've been caught in their lies and those who have yet to be caught.

The bottom line here was a crass politician running his ass off to get before the cameras in the biggest news story of the week. It is that simple. Chuck Schumer could learn from this.

It will be the trooper's fault for not trying hard enough to make Corzine put on his seatbelt. I guess the trooper should have refused to start the car until Corzine complied?

I'd say there wasa major case of CYA from the start, through the attempted trashing of the other driver involved.

An AP article earlier today suggested that Corzine was issued a ticket for not wwearing the seatbelt. Was he or wasn’t he? The artivcle was descroibing how more then 200,000 tickets had been issued to NJ drivers for seat belt violations. If Corzine had already been ticketed, then I doubt this article would be hashing the trooper’s role in Corzine not wearingf a seat belt. I do wonder if the AP basically lied by inferrence.

91 mph in a 65 mph — what are they thinking — that New Jersey has a new autobahn?

And no seat belt? If Corzine gets a ticket, can he issue a pardon for himself?

Or are we just supposed to accept the fact that some politicos think they are above the law and don’t have to obey the laws anyway?

You knew it was coming. Now you know why the guy was not charged. Because it was the governor’s fault.

It’s completely Corzine’s fault. He chose not to wear the seatbelt. He allowed the driver, probably even urged the drive, to speed. He is the one in charge.
