To: You Dirty Rats

I wasn’t going to respond to this, but changed my mind.

I’ve been hammering away at the same theme for months. The vast majority of my posts and threads for the last few months have been made in support of fighting for our conservative values and against liberalism. I don’t have a whole lot of time to be posting new threads during our fundraisers, but I do post to a lot of ongoing threads. And I did so during this one. I joined the debate against Giuliani on dozens of threads. If you wish to review my posts, be my guest. I wasn’t bashful, and I wasn’t holding back. I hammered away at the same theme. They all had similar pro-God, pro-life, pro-Liberty, anti-liberal arguments. Sorry you missed them

I also posted a couple threads besides this one. And, other than the last three weeks in March when we were on the road to DC and back, I’ve been posting threads and debates on the same topic for months (and years). And just like this thread, none of my other threads were posted for baiting or banning or purging. I was just trying to make sure everyone on FR knew exactly what we’re fighting for and what FR is all about.

I think the difference here is that due to my earlier threads and ongoing debates on hundreds of threads, many of our posters had already drawn their battle lines and in fact, many of those whom left us on this thread we’re already gone. Wideawakes.net was already up and running having started sometime in March and several of our old friends were already posting there. I truly believe that many of the people who ended up resigning or getting banned had already made up their minds to leave or had at least one foot out the door. It wasn’t a purge, it was a mass exodus.

At some point on this thread, the parties of the two forums decided to do battle. I didn’t start it for that purpose, but decided if it had to be, I’d let it run its course. In fact, several months ago, I had decided to let the conservative candidate vs liberal candidate debate run its course with minimal intervention by the mods. And I’m afraid that in addition to losing several posters, we also lost at least three mods for that very reason.

At any rate, here are some of my recent threads you may have missed:

I think that’s a very good assessment.. as a moderator on a couple tech forums years ago, I saw this very same pattern take place a few times.. a clique of folks would try to force their own direction upon the forum, when this met strong opposition with it’s owner and other members it would play out as you described above..

Their exodus was premeditated, the ring leaders would try to pull as many as they can with them, and for some, end up trying to destroy what they helped build.

Some people are just hell bent on running the show and will not accept when they can’t, they really aren't team players and ultimately they do no one any service.

FR will prevail, that is my sincerest hope. Thank you Jim for your courage and dedication to conservatism.

At some point on this thread, the parties of the two forums decided to do battle. I didn’t start it for that purpose, but decided if it had to be, I’d let it run its course.

What I observed from this forum on this thread, was a few self anointed ones, obviously with your support, continually baiting and pushing and ultimately winning their coveted zap. If folks from another forum wanted a fight, you, sir and you alone, made the decision to engage. I hope you are happy with the results.

I had read and posted to several of the Rudy threads and it seemed to me that they were running out of steam. Conservatives were gradually winning by simply posting the facts about Giuliani. I recall a few former Rudy supporters who "saw the light" simply by becoming informed. (Which is what this forum does best.)

With Giuliani supporters gone, we have missed a precious opportunity to hone persuasive argument skills. Rather than working intelligently to sway people toward a more conservative candidate, sociopaths referred to human beings as bugs to be zapped.

I have witnessed some of the most vile sociopathic behavior in my life the past week from people who are claiming to be pro-God, pro-life, pro-Liberty, anti-liberal Bug Zappers. The hypocrisy and insanity of their behavior is astounding. Invoking God in a mission to humiliate and taunt people who have contributed significant time and effort to this forum and the conservative cause is sick, and a poor reflection of what I understand to be FR's mission.

Jim, this isn't a debate, or swaying views by persuasive argument. It is gangbanger behavior. Instead of healing, the gangbangers are patting themselves on the backs for beating up everyone not in their clique, including solid conservatives who never even heard of WideAwakes and the like until the past week.

I wonder many pro-God, pro-life, pro-Liberty, anti-liberal conservatives are collateral damage from this decision.
