Rosie on Catholic Justices: 'How About Separation of Church and State?'

Posted by Justin McCarthy on April 19, 2007 - 14:37.

On April 19, the ladies of "The View" offered their analysis of the Gonzales v. Carhart decision upholding a federal partial birth abortion ban. Most of the segment was a back and forth between Rosie O’Donnell, who clearly opposed the decision and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, who supported it. Joy Behar and Barbara Walters chimed in occasionally with Behar clearly in the abortion rights camp and Barbara Walters mildly there. Video: Real (1.4 MB) or Windows (1.6 MB); plus MP3 (256 KB)

Rosie expressed horror that there are five Catholics on the Supreme Court and Catholics on the Court apparently violate the "separation of church and state"

In her case I would definitely support abortion. With a barbed wire rake.

That is about as ridiculous as not allowing gays to run for any office.

This is what the Catechism means when it speaks of "intrinsically disordered".

How About Separation of Church and State?

How about maybe the Justices made the decision based on the case's own merit Jabba?

Ever think of that?

Of course you didn't.

Rosie expressed horror that there are five Catholics on the Supreme Court and Catholics on the Court apparently violate the "separation of church and state."

Then we may infer that in her mysterious system of logic, five Protestants would not.

Jabba the Slut shouldn’t be consulted on anything more important than deciding who makes the best donut or which brand of suet is best.

Clearly she’s a moron. The Left is so used to the courts imposing their own radical agenda, that they can’t recognize when a Court behaves as it should by issuing outcome-neutral decisions as it relates to the Culture War.

If the theocrats in Scalia and Thomas were acting as claimed, then they would suddenly discover that the Constitution forbids abortion (or partial birth abortion in this case), but they didn’t do that. All they did was to, in effect, stay out of it.

The only value I can see to this woman is that her ignorance is so deep that it has probably taken up the share that would have made 10 imbeciles necessary

I was listening to this on the Laura Ingraham show today (they have a Best of Laura show on saturday afternoon). Of course the liberals interpretation of separation of church and state means that all conservative religious people are to sit down and shut-up. It’s just another liberal attempt to silence people. The do it on all issues. If you didn’t serve in the military you have no right to disagree with a liberal on national security issues. If your not a woman you have no right to express an opinion of abortion (unless of course you agree with them). And of course unless your a “scientist” you have no right to express your opinion of “global warming” unless of course you agree with them.

So I guess by her standards, a requirement to be on the SCOTUS is that you have to be an athiest?

Ridiculous

How about separation of Rosie and doughnuts.

Separation of anything from Rosie is greatly complicated by the Law of Gravitation. I think the greatest evidence that stupidity is an as-yet unexplained physical force is that it somehow aids ideas in escaping her event horizon.

I laugh out loud every time I think of idiot Rosie O’Donut giving up her Oprah-level salary on her afternoon talk-show for a worthless morning pseudo-news show that pays less than a quarter of what she was getting.

Outstanding career choice, moron, and I’m glad that the money is not going into your pocket!
