Buy a Fred Thompson Domain Name... It's Fun, It's Cheap, and It's Fredtastic.com!
My noggin | Today, silly | Silly

Posted on 04/26/2007 10:51:09 PM PDT by Silly

You Fred fans, it's cheap and easy to purchase a short snappy domain name and point it to a free blog. Costs about $9. And it's fun! A great way to support your candidate of choice, establish a forum, and meet other like-minded people.

I love looking up phrases and seeing them up to see if the domain is available.

Join the fun! Go to a domain registrar, like GoDaddy.com or 1and1.com, and try some ideas. The shorter and snappier they are, the better. Try to avoid hyphens.

I did some advance homework for you:

STILL AVAILABLE (at $8.95/year) HurryFred.com HeadToFred.com FredZit.com BetterFredThanDeaad Fred08.com WeLuvFred.com NowFred.com

ALREADY TAKEN

Fredtastic.com MightyFred.com OhFred.com BigFred.com PresidentFred.com RunFredRun.com

I buy my domains at GoDaddy.com. They let you forward it to a blog for free, and mask the blog name so only you domain name appears, not mynewsite.blogspot, but www.mynewsite.com.

An example: I own http://www.plasticpie.com, and have it pointed to http://plasticpie.blogspot.com.

By the way, I think the .us domain is quite appropriate for political sites. Looks nice in red, white and blue, as you can see above.

Click for more official information about Fred.

If you’re interested in seeing the latest articles about Fred Thompson and don’t want to be pinged for each one, just click on his name in the top right list of “popular keywords” on the Forum page. Please FRmail jellybean, if you want on/off this list. WARNING:This ping list can often be extremely active.

Great idea!

Even if you cannot write a lot of columns and provide a lot of content on your site, one very good use of your site is to link to all the really great ones for your candidate.

Once you get spidered (which happens quickly now), you will help many people find the other great sites.

I'm happy to help anyone get a site going. Here is a site I built for $9:

www.pkea.us (my career website)

Thanks, but I didn't make that graphic. Wouldn't know where to begin :)

The HTML code I sent you "borrowed" it from who ever it belongs to.

Since I’ve posted this last night, someone already bought Fred08.com.

Thought of buying it myself. Should have.

Fred08.com has been around for several weeks. It’s a good source of info for Fred links, interviews, and audio.

Check it out, if you haven’t already.

Not to be a stickler, but no, it was registered for the first time on 27 Feb. 2007.

Record expires on 27-Feb-2009.
Record created on 27-Feb-2007.
Database last updated on 28-Apr-2007 03:32:10 EDT.

It was then pointed (redirected) to an existing site that has been around — the site you’re referring to.

Cool stuff, the Internet, what?
