Re: Statement re Democratic National Committee

Dear Mr Robinson:

We are writing on behalf of our client, the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

A post by “coffee260” on FreeRepublic.com today states that this morning, on the Quinn & Rose show on XM, co-host Quin stated that the DNC chairman, Gov. Howard Dean had called Gov Kathleen Sebelius (D-Kans) “around 5:00am on morning after a tornado destroyed the town of Greensburg, Kansas and discussed with here what to say about the tornado and how to blame the war in Iraq and the Bush administration on a slow response to the aftermath.”

The statement was made by Mr Quinn, repeated on FreeRepublic, is demonstrably, unequivocally and absolutely false. Gov Dean had no such conversation with Gov Sebelius, ever.

No effort was made by FreeRepublic to contact anyone at the DNC for comment or to check the accuracy of these statements before they were published. FreeRepublic not only repeated this statement, but further stressed that Quinn’s “source” was extremely reliable and in a position that would give him direct knowledge of these revelations.

The statements quoted above are false and defamatory, are libelous and slanderous and clearly threaten to interfere with the DNC’s operations and ability to solicit support and raise funds by predjuding the organization in the eyes of the Democratic Party supporters and the public. For these reasons, we demand that FreeRepublic immediately cease and desist from Further dissemination of the above quoted statements or any statements similar in substance and immediately post a retraction of these statements in a location on its web pages at least as prominent as that on which the original story appeared.

Please let us know by noon, May 11, 2007, whether you intend to comply with these requests.

Thanks for your time and immediate attention to this important matter.

Sincerely yours,
(Signature)
Joseph E Sandler

I assume you’ve heard the one about the vet who did taxidermy on the side?

His advertising emphasized, “Either way, you’ll get your dog back.”

They expect every poster to verify the truth of their statements with the DNC before posting a comment? Wow. That's pretty funny.

“They expect every poster to verify the truth of their statements with the DNC before posting a comment? Wow. That’s pretty funny.”

Maybe we should take them up on it.

Have a hot link on the board with a one-click “i just posted this” -— is it true?

As usual an attempt is being made to make those who talk about it the "issue" not the act itself. (The act was denied, but can the denial be trusted -- that should remain the issue.)

It's the usual ruse as when McCarthy attempted to highlight national security and he as well as anti-communism in general were made the "issue" with a "little" help from CP/USA and their word, McCarthyism.

Ditto Ann Coulter became the "issue" rather than the abominable practice of sending people off for re-education for using a word like faggot.

Will Wonders never cease. My first observation is this: If this were not true, why would the DNC retain counsel, and draft a letter demanding this be kept quiet? Also, the fact that is was sent to a blog site has the aroma of guilt written all over it. perhaps free republic is a threat to the survival of the DNC’s Chairperson. Next item I observed is the fact that Dean didn’t waste any time deny this and doing so in a way that deny’s the basic constitutional right of free speech. Something that Howard Dean has abused so consistantly since he was appointed the head of the DNC. I wonder if Howard Dean is a little afraid? Just sayin

"dead animals"

Now, now..... you folks may be laboring under a misunderstanding about Joseph E Sandler and Howard Dean.....what I HEARD was that there's only ONE dead animal to which they devote their lustful intentions, the dead rotting carcass of a donkey known as the "DNC" aka the "Defeatocrat Party" aka the "Demagogic Party"

my dad always used to say that if you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one that yelps is the one that got hit..

Dean yelped pretty loud, didn’t he...

I have no doubt the most tinfoil-hatted of posters -— you know, the ones that sound like a parody of what a liberal thinks a knuckle-dragging conservative to be -— are DNC plants.

I've suspected that for a while. They always give themselves away in the end though.

"no such conversation"

So true, with well-practiced Clintonista precision, the Demagogues long ago learned to prevaricate in just this way (when they are not lying even more explicitly). If ANY word or detail or nuance of the reported "conversation" differed in any way from what the Demagogues believe occurred (of course, their recollections could be wrong, that happens all the time when they are not outright lying), then they will scream "no such conversation" ever occurred....... not THAT exact conversation but a different conversation occurred, one that differs by one word or detail..... that is masterly Clintonista prevarication, for it all depends upon what the meaning of "is" is.......

Thanks. The kind of question reporters should be asking the scumbags (as if any MSM reporter cares about the scandal of the Demagogues exploiting tragic deaths for slimey political purposes) are:

Did ANYONE from the DNC talk with ANYONE in Governor Sebelius’s world (Kansas) about ANYTHING to do with statements, responses, or strategies for dealing with the tornado and its aftermath?

Of course, when Clintonista prevarication is going on, it is almost impossible to draw the boundaries of such questions precisely enough, because if you paint with broad strokes they will demand that you focus and limit the question, but if you do that then they will find their wormholes to wriggle through.... it sure is tough dealing with such worms.

"Founded in 1983, the Democratic Governors Association (DGA) is an independent voluntary political organization organized to support the candidacies of Democratic gubernatorial nominees and incumbents across the nation. The DGA also serves as the united voice for America’s Democratic...."

Bingo!! Isn't Gov. Sebelius the current head of the DGA? This Sandler scumbag is in the middle of the mix between Dean and Sebelius. Whatever went down, we can be sure that Sandler belongs in the Rogues' Gallery of Weasels.

yup..it may be as easy as dean calling and saying, “you know what to do”..

now how do you nail them with that?

like I’ve said before, she got her talking points from somewhere since she was too quick on the trigger while A LOT of help was already there AND more was arriving..
